Summary: Glenshiel Lodge was perfect for our large family trip to Skye. The house and cottage accommodated 20 of us very comfortably. The kitchen is built for a chef. And in fact, we hired an in-house chef Ken from Ghillies Catering who was fantastic! The hiking around the lodge is phenomenal. We found that the hiking just over the ridge from the back of Glenshiel Lodge, was just as beautiful as some of the hikes we drove 30 minutes to. The wood-burning hot tub was fun too! I would highly recommend for large family highland getaway.

Summary: The WiFi did not work and it appears that it hasn’t been available for some time. The freezer was half-filled with old food and meats. The lodge is need of some TLC but it was perfect setting for our large family reunion. All the beds had fresh linens and there was an ample supply of towels. And the surrounding area is lovely. We hiked the Five Sisters as well as the mountains behind the lodge, visited the brochs in Glenelg, toured the Isle of Skye and the beautiful village of Plockton and Applecross Bay.
