Summary: We had a one night stay at the Savoy which was perfectly adequate for this short stay. We were able to get a parking spot on site ( the amount of parking available is fairly limited), and the room we were allocated was of a good size and appeared to have been redecorated fairly recently. It was clean and had a good mix of furniture. The bed could have been better as the mattress sagged towards the sides and the pillows were rather hard and uncomfortable. Despite this, the cost of the stay was very reasonable , so we would be prepared to stay there again for a similar short stay.

Summary: Very out dated, not very clean at all, creaky boards everywhere, parking is first come first serve we had to pay £20 to park, and when I said to reception that I had already contacted hotel about parking and they said I definitely can. The answer I got was either park on side streets or the council car park. Nothing on street so had to pay. Glad we only stayed a couple of nights couldn’t wait to get out of there.

Summary: Tired hotel not worth the price couldn’t recommend. Twin room beds uncomfortable curtains hanging off had to climb up and fix to ensure light wasnt coming in. Booked 3 course evening meal granted we didn’t check in until 6pm but reception staff rushed us to restaurant immediately didn’t even get chance to take suitcases to room saying there was only 1 sitting & that was 6pm only to find it was a buffet which hadn’t even started… put a dampener on the stay immediately. Then they ran out of desserts at least myself and 3 other diners only had 2 courses wasn’t offered an alternative but did hear lady on next table ask for some ice cream instead which she got. Breakfast really poor fruit range . On offer tinned peaches and pears nothing fresh and everything was packed away immediately @ 9.30am if I had wanted an extra slice of toast I would’ve been out of luck. Nice view from room and that is genuinely the only positive I can think of

Summary: Decent family size room . Good parking . Initially good staff but this went down hill during the weekend . Granted it’s an old hotel but there’s quite a lot of investment needed. The bathroom window was screwed shut and a very poor quality shower had been fitted by a child . Just employ someone to do your gardening and outside maintenance as this is the first impression and it’s terrible at the moment . Litter everywhere and over grown grass and weeds - come on that would literally take a day to improve !!

Summary: Room clean and functional. Beds comfy! Breakfast excellent. Bar not staffed well and had to wait ages to get some soft drink and a wine to have with our dinner. No flexibility in the time of evening meal.
