Positive: The property was in a great location, only a few minutes walk from the centre of Helmsley, Morrisons next door and plenty of shops/places to eat nearby. It was a spacious property with 3 bathrooms and a downstairs toilet. The kitchen was great, well equipped with everything you need. The 1st floor main bedroom bed was very comfy. The ground floor bedroom with an en-suite which was suitable for wheelchair users. Plenty of space for private parking.

Negative: There is nowhere in the description stating that this property has an internal door in the kitchen to adjoining property, I think this is the annexe. We could hear very loud conversations through this door. The photos show a courtyard for private use, this wasn’t the case. The other property were using this and there were 2 dogs wandering about, it was also full of weeds and cigarette tabs. The photos also show that there is a welcome hamper, we didn’t get one and I can see from previous reviews that I’m not the first person to mention this. The property is in need of some TLC, black mould in the shower, shower was either very hot or very cold, duvet too small for bed downstairs (again this has been mentioned before in previous reviews). If you’re a light sleeper, take earplugs for the main bedroom, there are very loud fans going on and off all through the night from the Morrisons next door. The final straw was the neighbouring property having a party which didn’t stop till gone 2am in the morning, total disrespect for the neighbouring properties in the area. Some of my complaints may seem picky but when you’re paying over £1080 for 3 nights you expect better standards. This was a holiday for my Mum who is in a wheelchair which was spoilt with issues mentioned above. Very disappointing.

Summary: This COULD be an amazing property, I wouldn’t recommend

Positive: Cental location / parking / lovely accommodation / quiet / nice garden / good weather!

Negative: In downstairs room quilt could have been bigger but that is the only thing about the accommodation.. We arrived early and knew we could not get in until 4 so waited in patio area until property was ready ( we actually said to the cleaning staff we knew we could not access the property until 4). We understand the cleaners felt under pressure to leave early which upset us a bit as this was never our intention and we were chatting to them. We had not unpacked the car or hassled them to leave.

Negative: Lack of welcome pack, eight teabags/ coffee sachets/sugar sachets, no flute glasses, small shampoo and body wash sachets all gave a miserly impression which given how much it cost is a huge own goal.

Negative: Nothing Something that could be considered - upon leaving the property, the time of 10.00am is fine, but leaves a tight schedule if you have young children. As new occupants are not expected until 4.00pm, perhaps the parking deadline could be extended until noon so one could enjoy breakfast in the town.
