Hood, where you'll find world-class skiing and snowboarding! This stunning region provides many options for year-round outdoor activities, such as hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and swimming! Rhododendron is truly a mountain town with a few outdoor-friendly restaurants, bars, and a grocery store. The nearby towns of Welches, Brightwood, and Government Camp provide more mountainside fun, like lookout points and places to kayak and fish.
Day trips are also a great option from here - the Columbia River Gorge is about 30 miles away, with world-famous windsurfing, kite surfing, and stunning views of waterfalls and mountains. The town of Hood River provides several brewery options and plenty of festivals and events year-round.
Outside on the deck is a picnic table, patio furniture, and a gas grill where you can whip up a barbecue feast. Down the hill by the river, there's a hammock, firepit, and several swings where the kids can play.

Summary: Pros:Very relaxing place to rest, mediate, cook and sleep with the sounds of the river and nature.Cons:The septic system its in need of urgent repairs. Toilets wont flush properly. The trophies on the walls are smelly and sad to look at.I would absolutely recommend this place to friends and family.

Summary: The location is absolutely beautiful. The cabin was cute and had everything we needed. If you have equilibrium problems you might have a hard time as the cabin is pretty uneven. The hot tub probably needs to be drained and refilled. It had a lot of debris but was enjoyed none the less. Our biggest issue was the water. It smells horrendous so you are going to want to bring bottled water to drink and expect a smell from the water when you shower. The deck was amazing and we were lucky with some nice weather so we could enjoy that and the BBQ grill. We also enjoyed the fire pit down at the river and the swings were a hit with my kids. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Summary: Super cute property with gorgeous river views. I rented the place for a birthday weekend with friends and we had a great time. The location is fantastic and even though the place is close to the road, it doesn’t feel that way with the river so close. A few pieces of feedback: a real sponge would’ve been nice to do dishes (we were left with only a magic eraser), and the two top bunks need new slats which would make the beds much more comfortable. Also, make sure you check the hot tub right when you arrive, if it can take a while to heat if it needs to be restarted.

Summary: We've been coming to this cabin for almost a decade. It's our fall getaway location of choice. The cabin has neighbors, but it feels very private and secluded thanks to the trees and geography. We've tried other properties in the area, but nothing compares to this one for us. We love the river access and back deck. There is an amazing dining table in its own section of the main room and a small breakfast nook. This place has all the amenities we need, and it really feels comfortable in all parts of the cabin. The hot tub and back deck area feel private and spacious. Over the years we've seen nice improvements, including updated kitchen appliances and a dishwasher. We're very excited to see the fireplace get fixed. We look forward to this trip every year, and a big part of that is how great this cabin fits our needs.
