Positive: Loved staying here. Great location, great host. Spacious room and bathroom. Excellent facilities eg microwave airfryer coffee maker. The breakfast is defintley worth it.. The accomodation itself very authentic and unique, like the change from a generic hotel.

Negative: There wasn't I didn't like.

Negative: Too many explanations when arriving but made in a very polite manner by the owner.

Positive: The accommodation is lovely with lots of special touches. Each floor has an area containing a coffee machine. There is also an area on the 2nd floor with a microwave and an air fryer. Quality linen and a comfy bed added a little luxury at an affordable price. There is a little dog and a cat. Both are friendly, but the dog does bark when he sees you.

Negative: Carmen, the host, asks the guest to remove shoes, which is fine, and had slippers at the front door for guests to use. I did find it a little odd that she insisted not to walk inside with barefeet. I found my room stuffy and opened the windows for fresh air, but when I went out, staff would enter my room and close them.

Positive: It is rare that a hotel exceeds your expectations. We chose this hotel in part because it was cheaper than most others in town and in part because it was somewhere different to stay to all the big chain hotels. It turned out to be a little gem: beautiful, historic hotel with comfortable, well-appointed rooms and bathrooms. The owner(s) clearly made a real effort to preserve the hotel and chose the decorations well. It felt odd when we were asked to take off our shoes at the entrance, but once you see the beautiful wooden floors and feel (some of) the thick carpets, you understand why. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for a place to stay in Sydney!
