Positive: Location was great, check in easy, the lodge is in a lovely quiet spot just a short (albeit steep!) walk to Runswick Bay. It is also right next to the Cleveland Way so we enjoyed a few morning walks out to the national trust coast path for stunning cliffside views. The lodge was clean and tidy and presented to a high standard. The bathrooms are lovely, with great shower facilities. Kitchen was well equipped and maintained - the only things missing for me were an cafetière and maybe a couple of plastic glasses for outside use, but that’s very minor! All the beds were extremely comfortable with lovely linens. We enjoyed using the hot tub and outdoor terrace. The owner was really responsive to questions - great customer service. We had a great stay.

Negative: Parking is only for 1 car which made it a bit awkward as we had travelled as 2 parties from different places in the UK. There’s no other allocated parking so we ended up on the grass as did other families in lodges with more than 1 car. But we all worked it out between us! The only other thing was a very loud noise which sounded like maybe a water pump which went off all through the night. There seemed to be a mechanism sited in casing alongside the main bedroom. It kept me awake for a few hours the first night but I did sort of get used to it. It wouldn’t put me off staying again but I’d maybe take some earplugs!

Positive: Was a really clean and well presented place. Views around are lovely and nice distance from beach too. Hot tub was good. Bed really comfy.

Negative: I wish we had been provided with more toilet roll, had to buy some. Also not ideal that the nearest shop is not walking distance. I know that can’t be helped but I wouldn’t have minded if I’d have known prior to going their wouldn’t be spare toilet roll

Summary: Really lovely, comfy and clean. Relaxing holiday
