Positive: Amazing space with nice garden, furniture and ambience. Cosy wood fire. Comfy beds with privacy and electric blanets. Renovated historic buklding, timber floors. Claw foot bath and large bathroom. Note: we were in Library Cottage, not Rose cottage. Rose cottage is closer to main house.

Negative: Cooking options were difficult when seeking to cook meals (lrg frypan warped, electric hotplate at awkward ht, no pepper or tea/coffee, but plenty of utencils). Note location is isolated (in barren farming area) and has minimal facilities nearby - 30mins from Mt Field Nat Park, 15mins to nearest Shop, limited local food options (1 tavern), and in middle of rural area.

Positive: This was a last minute booking as we needed somewhere to stay between the West Coast and the East Coast and when I googled this was about half way. We were pleasantly surprised. The cottage was gorgeous and well set up. There's not much in Hamilton but we happened upon it on their Hamilton Show Day. We went to the local hotel for dinner which was lovely and the locals were very friendly. Not sure if it's every Saturday night but they had live entertainment, great!

Negative: Nothing comes to mind.

Summary: We enjoyed our short stay at Hamilton.

Positive: The cottage is so much prettier in person, the photos do not do it justice. Extremely comfortable beds with electric blankets. Gas heater/fireplace downstairs. Wendy the host, who lives on site in a separate residence, was super responsive, kind and helpful. Wonderful friendly local pub, great food at very reasonable prices.

Negative: It was not an issue for us, but all beds are upstairs, and the stair case is steep and narrow.

Summary: Highly recommended.

Positive: Keys were in a locked box, easy to access.

Negative: Dozens of millipedes all over lounge carpet, in the bathroom and bedroom areas proved a real hazard. I would bring a hand vac with me next time. Fan in upstairs toilet was VERY noisy, it turned on when the toilet light was on so we agreed not to turn the light on during night time toilet visits.

Summary: The cottage was in a lovely setting and very comfortable.
