Summary: The over-riding issue was the temperature; whilst we accept that to install air conditioning in a building such as this would be difficult we would have expected as a very minimum for a fan or free standing air con unit to be put into every room or in the current heatwave a newer and more appropriate room to be offered. We arrived late and were in bed before realising how uncomfortable the room was At this price point we were exceedingly disappointed

Summary: Very helpful staff and excellent breakfast. Parking was extra (£5- day) The room (deluxe ) was a little tired and the bath chipped. In a very old building it would have been nice to have had a small refrigerator to cool the water provided as it was very hot and, as usual, in the UK not air conditioned. The outside seating area was wonderful and cool in the evening. The breakfast was great

Summary: Lovely room and en-suite. Very old so inevitable creaky floorboards above us but otherwise quiet. Very nice staff and breakfast. Ample parking, not sure about cost as had a deal. Easy walk to city centre and plenty of shops

Summary: Great hotel full of character. Next to the river and a short walk into the main town. Parking available at the back of the hotel. Staff were great, always friendly. Rooms differ from modern to very old. Rates are reasonable and the breakfast delightful. Have stayed here many times always good.

Summary: Check-in was easy. The room was at the far end of the hotel despite low occupancy. The property was a little tired but the rooms were comfortable, beds and shower good too. Breakfast was good. Be aware that there is a £5 charge for parking that we were not advised of at check in . This surprise was announced at check out the next day
