Positive: I stayed in 5 different places in Ometepe all in different areas and this was by far the best value for money and beautiful location. What a gorgeous family ❤️ I kept extending for 10 days. I will be dreaming of my little lakeside cabin for the rest of my life 🙏

Positive: The facilities were comfortable especially for the price and the staff were friendly, though I didn't take them up on the offer for homemade food during my stay. By far the best part though is the proximity to the lake in a very locally oriented area.

Summary: A comfortable affordable stay to experience Ometepe and Lago Cocibolca from the local side.

Positive: Arriving late and in the dark due to our own bad planning, we were met by the kindest and most accommodating family on our Nicaraguan trip. We had a nice spot to park the ATV and it was so calming listening to the lake outside our room. A few cold beers and a wonderful meal made this a highly recommended stop for everyone we've met since. You wont be disappointed!

Positive: The host and the dogs were very nice. The location is wonderful and you feel like you are in the middle of a Nicaraguan family. And the place is owned by a Nicaraguan family and not by some foreigners who make money with your stay.

Negative: The bathroom was in a bad condition as was the mosquito net. But still it was authentic somehow.

Positive: The cabin was pleasant with nice handcrafted accents. The grounds had an infinite number of mangos to enjoy. We had views of the lake which was very nice.

Negative: Unfortunately, this place did not live up to our expectations. We booked three days and left two days early. The mattress was very springy and thin and the water pressure in the shower was nonexistent. Fruit flies swarm everywhere because of all the mangos. We are fine with bugs and used to jungle living, but someone less accustomed might be horrified. The staff was kind but not attentive and we ultimately felt stranded without help because we didn’t rent a scooter/moped before arriving. We asked for breakfast and the staff never replied to our message. We also asked for help getting a scooter/moped, which was offered upon arrival, but we were shown an electric motorcycle and told scooter/mopeds don’t exist on the island. This is very untrue and we saw them for rent many places. We were told we could use the kitchen but it is very hard to use on your own since it’s an outdoor kitchen and works very differently than what you may be used to. The clean water is kept in a plastic trash can and the only working fridge is inside the personal living room of the staff. The location is very isolated from restaurants and markets and the beach is very trashy which was a huge disappointment to us. There is one saving grace restaurant/hostel next door that offers good meals, kayaks and helpful information. We booked this place based on the excellent reviews and were very confused when we experienced something very different.
