Positive: It was definitely the best room in the region, and the guy at reception is very kind

Negative: The hotel restaurant sometimes gets quite busy, with several people order at the same time, so I’d recommend going at a quieter moment. They have limited staff, and quite often some items on the menu are unavailable. You should keep in mind that it’s a rather “roots” sort of place, so it’s best not to expect too much or get upset about it — just enjoy the view and your room. Also, always make sure to carry some cash with you.

Positive: Beautiful location right next to Shala River. Clean and comfortable and beautiful views.

Negative: It was impossible to escape constant loud music from multiple different guest houses (even when no one was around partying) and even fireworks outside our window late one night. There was also no fan or air con. The room also seemed a little unfinished with a few small holes and exposed pipes but it was still good value for the location. It was also difficult to organise boat transport as the guest house doesn’t organise it for you. I’d suggest asking another guest house or tour operator to book this for you (they usually go each way twice a day-morning and afternoon).
