Positive: The property is located in the Salario area of Rome, a short walk from the Villa Borghese and museum (which is well worth a visit). Whilst not in the centre of Rome, a 20 minute walk or if you prefer a bus ride (1.5 euros) gets you to the action, the bus stop a 2 minute walk from the apartment. There are a couple of supermarkets and a more traditional market as well as several cafes within a 5 minute walk. The local restaurants are less tourist orientated, with some great options recommended by the host. The ground floor apartment worked perfectly for us with 4 spacious double bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, all with excellent showers. The kitchen (which we didn't use that much!) is well equipped including a Nespresso pod coffee machine. There is a good sized sitting room with smart TV (which again, wasn't needed!). All rooms were spotless and had remote controlled air conditioning which worked perfectly. Outside noise was minimal overnight during our stay in September. The host Andrea was fantastic, meeting us on arrival and providing great tips for sightseeing (including a detailed map with marked routes) and local restaurant recommendations.

Negative: We cannot think of any significant negatives.

Summary: Rome is superb; a fantastic apartment and host make it even better!

Positive: The host greeted us on arrival, assisted with luggage (roughly 15 steps to get luggage up) and gave a full tour of the apartment with a very thorough explanation on how everything works and recommendations on best restaurants and itinerary ideas. Essentials plus more were provided in the kitchen which made the apartment feel very welcoming. All rooms including the 3 full bathrooms were very clean and had everything you need to be comfortable. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Ample towels per person and shower toiletries provided. The location was perfect. A minute away from a supermarket. A bus stop on the same street out the front, and also a tram stop 1 block away.

Positive: The place is truly fantastic: comfortable, tastefully furnished, spotless clean, warm and super-conveniently located, is the quiet area away from tourist crowds, yet in a walking distance from the city center.
