This romantic stand-alone cottage offers stunning views and a private garden, ideal for rest and relaxation.
PROPERTY:
The first floor, with stone tile flooring and exposed wood beams, has a living area with a cushioned bench, a full kitchen, and a large terrace.
An outdoor table can be set up on the terrace for al-fresco dining.
The second floor has hardwood flooring, a slanted wood-beamed cathedral ceiling, and a large French window opening onto a cute little terrace.
There is one bedroom with an Italian "matrimoniale" bed (in between queen and king size, 163 cm/64"), and a bathroom with a bidet and shower.
PARKING:
There is no private parking at the property, but the little town has plenty of free public parking throughout. Depending on the time of day you may find one very close to the house, or a short walk away, at most a few hundred yards.
It has never been an issue for our guests.
FOOD/DINING:
This is a self-catering property - you will need to bring your own provisions or eat out.
Brienno is a very small town - it only has one great pizzeria and one upscale restaurant. However, in the town next door, Argegno, there is a lovely bakery, a small fruit/vegetable store, and a small grocery store.
For supermarkets, we recommend the Bennet supermarket in Como, or a good mid-sized supermarket in Lenno, both about 15 minutes away.
Mon-Thurs 7.30 am to 9 am there is a food truck with bread, cheeses, cold cuts, etc.

GETTING HERE:
The Milan airports are both 40 min away.
WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND RENTING A CAR because public transportation options are few and far between. No Uber or taxis. There are limited dining and grocery options within walking distance.
WHAT TO DO:
- Ideal a starting point for visiting the entire Lake region, with dozens of pretty towns.
- It is very close to Laglio (George Clooney's Villa) and to Cernobbio, with their fine restaurants.
- Boat-tours stop at the world-famous villas and their botanical gardens.
- Day trips to Como and Milan with their art and culture, restaurants, and shopping (designer outlets, silk scarves, and ties) are a must.

Summary: PERFECTION!!! The views of Lake Como do not get better than this! The stairs up are NO JOKE but so worth it! I can’t stop raving to all my friends about the “fairytale land” we stepped into when we arrived at the cottage; I could have stayed a month!

Summary: After bringing luggage up 88 steps, you will be greeted by an amazing view of the lake, the town across from the lake, and the church tower in Brienno. It is a very safe space. We rented a car and never had a problem finding a space to park. More than anything, the information from the host was PERFECT! She is very thorough with instructions and directions. As an FYI, there will likely be salt, pepper, oil, coffee, sugar and tea in the unit. We bought some bread and butter and eggs from Aldi in Como. We also ate at the pizza place in Brienno. Delicious!

Summary: Our stay was lovely! Hosts were great and extremely responsive and helpful. The views were awesome. If you're accustomed to driving on tiny roads, having a rental car would be perfect as groceries and food options are generally in other towns. There are a few hiking trails in Brienno that take you through the old part of the town with deteriorating buildings which was very cool to see. Great place to stay!

Summary: What a little gem my husband and I stumbled across. A delightful cottage, elevated with the most amazing views of the lake from kitchen, seating area, bedroom and even bathroom.Numerous seating areas outside, bedroom balcony, patio outside front of cottage, and a decent sized garden on lower level.A quiet location, which was great for us to get away from the hustle and bustle of sightseeing at the end of the day. A couple of good places to eat. Amble parking places for the car in the town. Hosts amazing, giving so much information, and setting up a WhatsApp once we arrived, in case we needed anything.Would recommend 100% to anyone wanting a quiet area with the most amazing views.

Summary: Chalet Lilia was far greater than advertised! The perfect ending to our trip to ITALY. BREATHTAKING views! Very quiet and relaxing. The property is more beautiful and picturesque than the very detailed pictures provided on the website. Clean, and every detail was taken care of, or provided by Lilia and Carmen.
