Positive: The decor, the location, comfortable bed, panoramic windows, good quality Bluetooth speaker, reliable hot water throughout, big lavender bushes on entry - wow, super nice feature! The staff were great, and the communication before arrival was good. The overall vibe was very zen and positive, it’s a perfect place to relax disconnect (the WiFi was great if you need) and unwind. You have access to walking trails over the rolling hills-perfect. The views are fantastic.

Negative: Personally, I’ve always been nervous parking my car on the side of the road, which is fairly narrow. I prefer to have a good sized full length mirror, which wasn’t available. I brought my own smaller mirror just in case; hanged it above the sink because there wasn’t one. The bath tub is good sized, but note that there isn’t a shower. However, the hosts provide a Single Tap Shower Spray Hose Bath Pipe extension which is at first a little awkward to use, but then you get used to it (we stayed six nights).

Thoughtful touches throughout made it feel welcoming and homely. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the location. Whether you’re gazing out of the windows or enjoying the outdoors, the views are simply breathtaking. It’s the perfect spot to switch off, unwind, and reconnect with nature. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat where you can escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, I can’t recommend this annex highly enough.

Positive: A beautifully designed annex, and it really is all about the design here. The aesthetic is beautiful, a mix of old and new, and full of personality. The place is well stocked and you have everything you could need for a couple of days. The property looks out over a beautiful view of fields and rolling hills. We were offered to collect (sustainably) what we wanted from the veg patch in the garden, which was a nice touch. The location is a rural haven, and just a short drive into Bath.

Negative: It gets very hot if the sun has been on the windows (although note we were there in July). There is a fan for the evening, which was a good touch. It would be good if there was something to hold the velux windows open for through air - they’re so large and heavy they closed on themselves. For us the toilet could do to have been a bit more private, there is no door only a heavy curtain, and the light bulb in the toilet was out. The lavender outside the entrance is beautiful but could do with some hacking back as it’s a bit difficult to enter the property. Some new towels would be nice, they were a little coarse. But all small things really.

Positive: A beautifully styled cottage with the best view. I loved the garden and the view extending from there into the hills behind is just breathtaking. The cottage is very close to Bath and some beautiful Cotswolds towns like Castle Combe. The owners are also super friendly and great people!

Negative: There is only a bath in the bathroom, no shower
