Gold hill (5 mi.). Most areas 15-20 min drive. Great central location in a safe, rural location.

Our cleaners deep clean/disinfect all surfaces between guests and wash/sanitize all linens. We follow Airbnb COVID 19 cleaning protocol. The health and safety of our guests and cleaning crew is our priority. We value our housekeeping crew and provide a living wage. Please ask us if you have concerns about cleaning protocol. Check local COVID restrictions for closed venues and restaurants.
Environmentally friendly
In Spring 2022 we installed a solar photovoltaic system that is designed to generate all of the power needed by guests--therefore providing a carbon-neutral stay from an electricity usage perspective! This system will provide all the energy needed to operate the stove, heat water for your showers, run the air conditioner or the heating unit, watch tv, keep the lights on, charge your batteries, and meet all your other electricity needs using clean energy from the sun. This added benefit to you is in keeping with the environmental ethos of Stay Cascadia.
Additional Guidelines / Important Information
Our maximum occupancy permit is 4 guests total for maximum 14 nights.
The guesthouse is 1000 sq ft. with a balcony overlooking the Rogue River. The space is not suitable for events, gatherings or children under 12.
For our guests safety and due to our rural forested location and fire danger, fireworks, firearms and smoking or vaping are not permitted anywhere on the property.
Our guesthouse is smoke free for your health and safety.

Our rural location allows sightings of local wildlife including many bird species, turkeys, deer and forest critters.

RV parking possible with prior approval due to rural driveway.
Enclosed stairway to second floor guesthouse is not handicap accessible.
Garage under guesthouse is private.

Your privacy is respected while a guest. Host residence is 80 ft. from guesthouse. Both buildings face the river and you will rarely see hosts unless using driveway. Hosts are available to make your stay comfortable.
We are a county permitted BNB and abide by the terms of our permit. The above House Rules are for the safety, health, and comfort of our guests, cleaning crew, and neighbors. Our family is fully vaccinated.
Streamlined Communication
Stay Cascadia utilizes automated messaging to ensure an enjoyable experience for all our guests. We provide a checklist that allows guests to select early check-in or a late check-out, notifies us if a guest wants to bring a pet, as well as provides clear check-in instructions and the opportunity to share those instructions with your party. Rest assured there is a human monitoring all of this so if you have an actual question we will get back to you as soon as possible.
No public access to river from guesthouse. Public access nearby at Gold Hill Park and park at the end of our road. Dog Park located in Gold Hill. Walking path on property with numerous hiking trails nearby.
Weather/Climate
Please note that we do not offer free cancellation due to inclement weather, poor air quality, or high wildfire danger in the area, unless active road closures due to fire or weather conditions prohibit guests from accessing the house, or advise guests to evacuate during their stay (Level 2 or higher fire evacuation notice, or road closures completely prohibit travel from guests’ point of origin to the house).
If Level 2 or higher fire evacuation notice is in effect or road closures completely prohibit travel from guests' point of origin to the house we will refund the guest each night that is in effect. If evacuation notice and closures remain in effect beyond half of the guest's scheduled stay we will issue an entire refund. In the case of a cancellation, the guest is required to make that cancellation and/or reschedule through VRBO.

Summary: Finding the place was easy if you stick closely to the directions. I prefer to stay a bit out of town usually and this is only 15 minutes from Medford. There are two routes to get there, I prefer the back route off the freeway, which adds about 3 minutes, but we saw an abundance of wildlife that way, and avoided the traffic on I-5. On the way in, we passed a small group of deer just 30 yards from our cabin, on the property. The place is immaculate. The kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms and living space and large, incredibly clean, and have all the creature comforts you would expect if you built it for yourself. The host(s) greeted us minutes after we arrived. They made sure we got in (easy to do), and they let us know they live on the property and have a blind dog that we should keep an eye out for. The only negative is that the view isn’t quite what you see in the pictures. The picture with the rainbow IS exactly what you can see from the cabin, but it is from a side window in the bedroom, that you can only see when standing in the room on the side of the bed. The beautiful view of the river in the picture, does not exist from the cabin. The view of the river is obstructed by trees from any porch on the property save and small sliver through the trees in three spots. That said, if you walk over near the front of the owner’s house you have an incredible view of the river, but you are about 20 feet from the owner’s front door, which is probably not to cool. All in all, the sounds were amazing, the owners suggested we sleep with the doors open, and we did each night, it was so peaceful and refreshing. The place is wonderful, just don’t expect to sit on the porch and watch the river, that was our expectations, but even though that wasn’t an option, we would probably stay there again.

Summary: In town In business and this was cheaper than 2 hotel rooms. Boy what a pleasant surprise! Absolutely gorgeous views and the Rogue river is literally 150yds away. I could sit in the balcony and just listen to the river all night. Tons of wildlife on the property as well. Phenomenal value for those that enjoy the outdoors, yet only 15-20 minutes away from the city and restaurants.

Summary: Words like solid and welcoming come to mind. Wasn't staying there for the scenery - which was spectacular BTW. Was visiting a grandkid and at a certain age you want no hassle and a feeling of security in a strange place. This is it. The owners are friendly and decent people who care about their visitors and the overall setting gives you a sense of peace. Will never stay any place else

Summary: An excellent spot. Very scenic location overlooking the Mighty Rogue River. The place was great. I was thrown by the payment process. After paying thru VRBO I was contacted by the property management group to pay. It took a long time to find a way to contact someone with VRBO (you need to make it easier for people to call you) who indicated I had just paid the fee and needed to pay the manager directly. There was no indication of that when I booked the property and had not experienced that in the past. No biggie just frustrating. But the property and property manager were great. Thanks. Glenn

Summary: Got this at the last minute from the website... It looked good on the site but that actually understates how excellent it is. We stay in these kinds of places when we are visiting family on the west coast and most are more-are-less acceptable, but they have that "not as nice as my home feel." This one is like a step up in luxury (and I don't care what your house is like - it doesn't have the Rogue River at its feet. The place is solid and very modern. The attention to detail is superb and the owners actually care about your comfort. Had a power failure while we are there, and the guy rousted himself out of bed in the middle of the night to bring us flashlights. That's the kind of people you'll be staying with. Had my son and his wife out for dinner. They were so impressed that they want to have a stay-cation there (and they live in Central Point). And of course we'll be staying there the next time we visit.
