Positive: Beautiful location on the Gambia river. Our lodge with 2 single beds was spacious, clean, airco working fine and matrasses were also okay. We slept well.

Negative: The dining area was not very 'inviting'. It was surrounded by a mosquito netting construction under harsh lighting.

Positive: The location is idyllic, set beside the Gambia river, perfect for wildlife enthusiasts, particularly birdwatchers. The staff were friendly and very accommodating. Breakfast was filling and in plentiful supply. Rooms were simple, immaculately kept the beds very comfortable

Negative: ....I could only stay one night. Will definitely book a longer stay next year

Positive: We had a great stay at the River Lodge. It is very peaceful and the staff is really nice. Food is great and good quality. Good location if you want to go and see the hippos and chimps.. The lodge recommended a boat owner and we saw both plus crocs.

Positive: Lovely place, located directly at the river (I recommend going for a swim) with excellent service. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and the food was great. Very quiet and peaceful place, but close to Janjanbureh for activities (we went on a great kanoeing tour) The room was nice with a big comfortable bed and the luxury of air conditioning. Be aware that a lot of places in the Gambia run on solar power, so the electricity (and with it the a/c) can shut off during the night. We travelled at the end of the rainy season, so much less likely during the sunnier tourist season. It is not the fault of the lodge, but just sth that has to be expected and didn't bother us. We loved our stay and would definitely come again.

Positive: The Riverside lodge is beautifully designed and harmoniously blends into the ecosystem, that it was surprisingly breathtaking. The environmental approach to the ecosystem and recycling methods is exceptional. The garden area erupts with beautiful banana plants and orangery and revival of endangered trees such as guavas and sour saps. We were welcomed by friendly and professional staff such as Moro, Danso and Secka (security staff). We were offered delicious dinner and breakfast, inclusive of the price.

Negative: The Riverside lodge is a perfect place for staying; looking forward to seeing the near future vision of the area, which will make it a hidden gem, not only in Gambia but Africa as a whole.
