Positive: Staff were friendly, it was a decent price and near where I needed to be. TV remote was missing but reception staff brought one to me when I notified them. Great heating in the room.

Positive: The hotel is modern and clean. I don't mind old and rustic either but after reading rather damning reviews of this hotel before we had even stayed here, made me a little apprehensive. However the reception area is sleek and clean. Our room the same. Other reviews complained there were no chairs in the room. There wasn't, but this wasn't for me a deal breaker. There was an ironing board but I guess I would need to ask for an iron from reception, again not a problem for me. The bathroom was really nice, especially the shower! I do love those rainfall showerheads, also a more conventional one if preferred. Comfy beds, hubby and I had the twin bed option & there was plenty of room. Clean fluffy towels. Kettle etc. Breakfast was extra at 9.99 each but we didn't take up the option so can't comment on that. The hotel is just off a busy A road and our room was at the front but it was still quiet. There is an Indian Restaurant at the rear of the building and we used their bar and outside seating terrace to enjoy a lovely peaceful G&T! We will definitely return as the hotel is ideally placed for Leamington Spa, Kenilworth & Warwick. A special shout out to the lovely Shifana on reception. A credit to the hotel when we needed a TV controller and some more tea/coffee/milk. Lovely lady with beautiful manners. If you're after a short stay in the area or even a week, you can't go wrong with the Riverside Hotel.

Negative: I will dig deep to find a negative.... The tea/coffee/milk/sugar tray is quite minimal but a short walk to reception remedied that with more supplies collected. There was no TV remote in our room. Shifana found us a replacement, no trouble.

Summary: Delightful Stay in a Peaceful Location, just what we were looking for!

Negative: The room was not clean. The double bed was made up of two single beds and the middle was sagging. The mattress springs were not good. There was yellow stain in the bathtub.

Negative: Very impersonal and bland. Whole place felt empty. No pictures or artwork on the walls anywhere. No hot breakfast on offer and restaurant closed in the evening during our stay. Called ‘Riverside’ but river across a field and hidden by trees and bushes so don’t be fooled by the name. Wish we’d stayed down the the road in Leamington instead.

Summary: Very disappointing bland property.
