Summary: A group of 6 gals stayed here for a weekend away. There were plenty of beds for sleeping and all were pretty comfy. Several seemed to have been updated recently. The area is gorgeous, even on a spring weekend where everything is still brown. It was easy to get all around both Cedar Falls and Waterloo. The house appears to have gone through several renovations/ additions so there are several steps up and down throughout. Some of the steps may be a little tough for younger kids to navigate because they’re a little uneven. There is only one shower/bath and both the full bathroom and the 1/2 bath are quite small. The sheets on the beds were comfortable as well. There were plenty of towels, wash clothes, etc. We did notice a lot of spider webs around the ceiling (we only saw one spider) and on lights. There were several light switches we didn’t know what they went to. We loved the porch in the back overlooking the river!! The afternoon sun warmed it up nicely and it was beautiful! Outside in back there were picnic tables and a very nice grill that we didn’t have a chance use. We also appreciated ample parking. We only had two vehicles but could easily have fit more. Lots of seating options all around the house. There is NO dishwasher, be prepared to wash your dishes. There was a dock that we walked out on as well and it would be a great place for some fishing. Overall, our group had a great time. We loved the natural setting and the spaces to sit and chat and the ease of getting where we wanted to go. Thank you!

Summary: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! There was plenty of room for us-6 adults and a toddler. It was a fabulous alternative to a motel, giving us a place to hang out together yet we all had privacy from each other as well. Location by the river was beautiful. And communication with the owner was great! We would definitely stay here again!

Summary: In town for my daughter’s wedding. Very spacious house sitting on a dead end road which kept it quiet. Lots of backyard space for our dogs to play. Neighbors were very friendly and welcoming. If I ever make it to Iowa again, I would definitely stay there again.

Summary: We wanted a fun little weekend getaway for our daughter’s birthday, and this fit the bill perfectly for us. Family friendly, pet friendly, great indoor and outdoor space. We had planned to spend the weekend playing along the river, unfortunately the weather had other plans for us. Thank goodness for the game room/projector, and kind and responsive hosts who got the projector going for us when we couldn’t figure it out. If you’re looking for a super high end/completely modernized property, this may not be the place for you, but for a typical family, I think this checks all the boxes and then some, and hope to get back there someday!
