With a prime location right on the Wallowa River, this is a place to return to year after year. This base camp is located on the lower level of a large home with its own private entrance down two flights of stairs - think mother-in-law apartment in reverse.
Sometimes the river is really moving along - soothing sounds you can take in from the large concrete patio with plenty of lawn and dining furniture. When you step inside, the bedroom is on your right, the bathroom in front of you, and the living/kitchen/dining area to the left. The bedroom has plenty of room and the newly remodeled bathroom has beautiful tile work in the shower stall. The living room and the kitchen have been recently updated as well. Having everything you need in one place makes this the perfect spot to relax after a day spent exploring Wallowa Lake.
The natural-yet-maintained yard is big enough for the little ones to play in, but please note that it does open right to the Wallowa River without a fence. When you're ready for a break from the sun, the interior stays nice and cool in the summer, as it is a daylight basement nestled in the trees.
Comfortable furnishings, a well-equipped kitchen, nice large windows, and a newly remodeled bathroom are just a few of the amenities you'll love.

You must be able to go down two flights of stairs to access this home.
No fires or firepits are ever allowed due to the heavily timbered area and county restrictions.

Summary: Everything was as advertised. Beautiful creek front, comfortable, well stocked and did include outside seating of table, chairs and stacking lawn chairs which a previous reviewer indicated was lacking.

Summary: We love this cabin! We absolutely loved drinking our coffee every morning by the river. Thanks so the river its never hot in the cabin, even during super hot days, its just perfect! Also opening the window at night with the background noise of the river its priceless. We also love that it is pet friendly. I think that one thing that would take it to the next level is a hot tub for those not so nice hot days. Its our 2nd time staying at this cabin and it wont be the last!

Summary: This cabin worked out perfectly for all our needs. The wifi held up excellently for my husband to work remotely. The babbling river covered the noise of the fireworks completely so my dog had no idea it was the 4th of July. We explored the nearby trails and paddleboarded in the lake everyday. We loved our stay in Joseph!

Summary: Great little private spot with the Wallowa River in the back yard. Make sure to take camp chairs if you want to enjoy sitting on the porch or by the river as there are none to sit on, only a little rickety wooden picnic table. Very good communication with the local property manager who went above and beyond to accommodate our wishes.
