Summary: The location was great for our needs. The cottage was simple, but had enough of everything we needed: kitchen supplies, extra blankets and a comfortable bed after a day of hiking. The location was right in the middle of town, but tucked back, away from the hustle and bustle.

Summary: Convenient location near the Greenway and Helen's restaurant, steps from the Machias River. Cottage is very clean and comfortable, with everything you might need. I would happily stay here again.

Summary: The River Cottage was perfect for my sister and I. Great easy chair for reading or just admiring the view. A very cozy couch for napping. A kitchen that is well equipped...though we never cooked as there are 2 wonderful restaurants within walking distance. The beds and pillows were perfect. It's a nice location, as we went as far East as possible, and flew in and out of Portland. Would definitely stay again.
