Summary: My son and I had a great time at the River Acres Retreat home. We made the trip out for some stargazing and the night sky did not disappoint, such a difference from what we see (or don't) living in the city. The location was a perfect home base for exploring around the area, with the Trinity River just a few seconds across the road where we were able to fish whenever we felt like walking over. The house itself had everything we could possibly want or need, it is clear that the owners went to great lengths to make sure everything was clean and comfortable. Unlike lots of rentals, we did not hesitate to use the kitchen, utensils, pots, pans etc were all clean and well taken care of. Herbs, teas, coffee and other extras were all fresh and had not been sitting for years like so many other spots we've stayed in. The game room in the basement kept the fun going when the cloudy skies rolled in. Our host Jackie was friendly and communicative throughout, accommodating us with whatever we asked for. All in all couldn't be happier with our visit, and plan on heading back up to the River Acres Retreat in just a couple of months for some summer skies and fun.
