Summary: Studio very well appointed, except the bed was very hard and smaller than what we are used to. Harbour views at high tide were lovely with Royal Spoonbill and other seabirds. The toilet bowl bleach/deodorizer was intensely overpowering, and pervaded the living spaces, which spoilt the experience.

Summary: I really enjoyed being away from city. It was very quiet and loved the dark nights. This location was my Northland base while sightseeing. Make sure you visit the new art museum and the attached Aqua restaurant is excellent.

Summary: This is a superb modern studio holiday apartment which is situated directly on the harbour side. It is tastefully furnished to a high standard and has all of the essential amenities for a relaxing break. Theo and Raewyn are great hosts, and you are made to feel very welcome right from the start. I stayed as a solo independent traveller, but this would equally suit a couple. I would recommend Ripples and Tides to any person travelling to this area of New Zealand.
