Positive: This Gite in Beaune was perfect for two days of recuperation after traveling several days from Edinburgh during a heatwave, lugging baggage across trains, buses and cramped overnight accommodation. The Right Place is aptly named, just what we needed. A room each with our own ensuite to spread ourselves out. A sizeable kitchen with CLEAN and QUALITY kitchen equipment to eat in (with some nice touches like providing olive oil). Tucked away in a courtyard off the main street, it felt private and quiet. The bathrooms were amazing in their design. The design of the building meant we evaded the heat without needed air con. The laundry was a life saver. Delphine was a very hospitable host, we managed to communicate despite some language barriers ( my French was still very broken at that stage). It was the best accommodation in a cross 5 weeks and about 15 different stays across UK and France. It was a bit pricier than other places I stayed while still offering excellent value for money. Couldn't recommend higher.

Negative: There was nothing I didn't like, just a few considerations. The place can be hard to find, google maps takes you to one entrance which is under renovations. One inside the complex, there are a few twists and turns before finding the room. Delphine was amazing at showing this all to us, but it is important to keep in close communication with the host. Just a couple of minor things. One of the bathrooms has a small problem with flickering sensor lights, the key did get a bit stuck sometimes when locking/unlocking the door. But all very minor things.
