3 Bedroom Villa in Caprese Michelangelo

A stone built house with private pool and garden set within the village of Lama near Caprese Michelangelo. The house, being suitable for 4 to 5 people has 2 bedrooms, one twin and one double with king sized bed and a gallery overlooking the living room with double futon sofa bed. The living area is open plan with a fireplace with wood-burning stove, furnished with sofa seating, television, dining table and chairs, and leads out to the new kitchen and covered loggia extension built in early 2014 using traditional materials and methods. The kitchen is fitted with integrated appliances including dishwasher and washing machine and has double sliding doors leading onto the loggia with a built in all-weather barbeque and wooden dining furniture. The passage off the living area leads to the double and twin bedrooms each with views of the surrounding hills and to the bathroom which is equipped with a large rainshower, wc, bidet and basin. There is a desk in the gallery for anyone who needs to work.
Externally there is a further covered seating area under the pergola with table and chairs, and loungers and umbrella are provided on the sunny stone paved pool terrace. The 8 m x 4 m swimming pool with Roman steps is for the exclusive use of the house. (Please note parents with young children that the pool is 1.8 m at the deep end).
Within a few metres of the house is the ever popular Il Refugio restaurant and pizzeria specialising in rural Tuscan food. Also a few steps further is the Spar grocery shop, selling anything from local cheeses and hams to cement and hosepipe accessories! In nearby Caprese there is a selection of good restaurants, as well as shops, cafe/bar, laundry, banks, museum, etc with more excellent restaurants a little further afield. A list of restaurants is included in the guests information pack provided in the house.
There are numerous walks in the area, including the national GEA trail, and routes are often way-marked and numbered and many of these can be started from the house. Some maps and directions are available for guests and guided walks can be arranged, charged locally. Within a couple of minutes walk from the house is a river where it is possible to swim.
Summary: Our admittedly biased opinion is that this is the perfect destination for a multi faceted holiday set in beautiful countryside with a range of fantastic world renowned historic towns and cities to visit, drives through stunning countryside, beautiful walks in a wide range of terrains. Summary: If you are looking for a place off the main tourist ways but well connected to them, this is it! Swimming pool is a huge plus.

Summary: We are a family of three with a little son 3.5 years of age. The House was just perfect for our family vacation. The compound is closed and our child roamed freely around the house, the green and the pool. He learned how to float with inflatables and a vest and the water was his favorite place. The house is up in the mountainside and it takes about 40 mins driving to get there or leave range for the main roads. We enjoyed the village life in Caprese/Lama, its slow pace and peacefulness. We always loved to come back to the house from our daytrips and relax on the porch. Due to its higher altitude temperatures around the house cool down in the evening and allow for a good sleep at night. We did well without aircon even in August. Lesley helped us with good advice before and during our stay. We also met Jeremy, the property manager, during the linen change and he helped us with good restaurant suggestions and a contact to a professional photographer. In summary, we had a wonderful vacation with lots of great memories of Tuscany, the house and family moments.

Summary: This property was perfect for holiday in Italy. Our kids adored the pool and the house had everything we needed for very relaxing family holiday. The location was great although we didn’t leave Lama very much! We visited the restaurant at the top of the lane (Il Refugio) 3 times during our stay and found it very welcoming with fantastic pizzas. Lesley was a brilliant host and always quick to respond with queries. Would go back again in a heartbeat :)

Summary: Incredibly peaceful and tranquil but not isolated. We had a wonderful week at Lama, the villa is really well equipped. WiFi was great even with 4 of us using it. A car is essential to get around because most of the tourist attractions we visited, were over an hour away. Highly recommend

Summary: If you are looking for a well equipped villa in the Tuscan hills with a lovely pool, this is the perfect spot. The pizzas at the restaurant at the end of the road really really are enormous, so be prepared to take half home or to share. If you are looking to visit Florence, Sienna or further afield, expect to travel for longer than Google maps suggest. Locally, Anghiari, one of the local towns is a must. So close and quite stunning.

Summary: We had a wonderful time staying at the villa. If you want to relax during your vacation this is a beautiful place to do so. The villa is located in the little Italian village Lama, very quiet location but close enough to restaurants, grocery stores or attractions to visit. We are a family of 4, with two kids of the age of 10 and 12. Everyone loved the villa! The villa itself had the perfect size for us. It is very cozy and clean. The kitchen has a beautiful view into the garden, is quite big and offered everything that we needed. The outside area was superb and gave us lots of privacy. The pool was beautiful to cool off in and the grass area gave our kids enough room to run around while we sat at the pool or on the patio relaxing. We also grilled outside which was a big plus. There is a small grocery store close by (maybe 5 min. walk) which has a lot to offer. Our kids loved going there by themselves in the morning to pick up bread, eggs and whatever else we wanted for breakfast. The people there are lovely and even though our kids don’t speak Italian, they enjoyed every bit of interaction with them. There is also a restaurant you can walk to in 2 minutes. A lot of beautiful towns can be reached by car within 20-30 minutes. Caprese Michelangelo can be reached by foot as well. We walked up to it with our kids and enjoyed an amazing lunch at Buca Di Michelangelo. If you need anything while staying at the villa the manager of the property is very helpful. He has such a nice personality and had great suggestions when we asked for his help.

Summary: Loved the house - especially the pool. Perfect for our family. Lots of places nearby to visit for half day trips before getting back to the pool. Fantastic pizzas from the restaurant at the end of the road and a delicious meal in Boca de Michelangelo and great take away pizza from the end of the road.

Summary: My husband and I spent 4 weeks in this lovely house in september/october. We found the house very charming and comfortable and felt us at home as soon we come inside the front door. We appreciated especially the well-equipped kitchen as we had a long stay and tried to make our italian food now and then. The pool was lovely and big enough to swim in which made me happy, but sooo cold. We visited many beatiful villages and small towns during our stay, the recommendations were very useful. The decorations indoors were made with good taste and at the arrival we found a bottle of wine on the table. Excellent! Jeremy and Linda were very nice persons who made their work excellent. Jeremy told us a lot about wine and the surroundings and was a good help for us with practical things. As we stayed so long, the autumn began to make both days and nights very cold, so Jeremy arranged some heat in the house fortunately and we realized that the summer wouldnt return. If we return to Toscana someday, which we gladly do, we will choose an earlier time in summer because we really loved the house.
