Positive: It's such a beautiful place! As soon as you enter, you simultaneously feel at home and on your best Mediterranean vacation! We booked a ground level apartment, which turned out to be quite spacious, as well as the bathroom, with direct access to the garden and near the pool, also near the outdoor dining space where the vending machines are. Several nights we stayed in and had a salad on the veranda, when a cute cat came to visit twice. Indeed, we took advantage of the provided vegetables from the garden (great cherry tomatoes) - you can find those on a trolley cart near the vending machines. The bed was super comfortable for us, there was AC as well, the window shutters worked well for stopping the sun when needed and for some cross-ventilation at the same time. For almost all the time we used a scooter to move around the island, so everything was quite easy to access, plus there are some parking spaces at the property. The supermarket in Panza was about 10 min away with the scooter, bakeries - even 5 min away. We had to climb the hill only once on foot, but it turned out not to be that bad. A bus stop is right on the main street, where the incline starts. At the property, there are the phone numbers of several stores where you can order groceries to be delivered, also you can order delivery from a pizzeria. I am extremely happy we stayed at San Domenico, it was an amazing place and starting point to discover the island!

Negative: The location must be taken into account when booking, as it may be too much of a climb for some. I actually have to admit that this exact location is what provided such tranquility, so not an issue for me. Also, you better bring your own water. There are only small bottles of water available to purchase in the vending machines. Finally, beware of the mosquitoes - well, they are almost everywhere on the island anyways.

Positive: Location was lovely and peaceful. Getting the bus was easy enough as there is a bus stop 10 minutes walk from the accommodation. Would recommend to get a 3 day bus pass from the tobacco shop when you first arrive at the port as that was handy. The free home grown veggies and tomatoes were such a great addition and the vending machine was nice to have when wanting a quick snack or drink. The pool was clean and refreshing. You can even order cheap pizzas to be delivered just make sure you have cash as well. The local cat came to visit frequently as well and is super friendly and cute!

Positive: Very nice residence, very quiet with a gorgeous swimming pool and gardens. Maria and Federica were really nice, responsive, and helpful (they helped us organise scooter rental - delivered on the premise!). Would definitely come again next time in Ischia!

Positive: San Domenico was our last stay in Italy as part of a four week trip and unfortunately was the most disappointing accommodation. I have never written a negative review before but this residence did not meet our expectations at all and we left feeling very disappointed. Positives: the pool and gardens are beautiful and very well kept. The views from the pool are lovely and there is occasionally fresh produce left for guests to use. The bedroom has air con which made the apartment nice and comfortable. Negatives: the apartment was very basic. The bathroom is very outdated and was a slip hazard for our toddler. We were left two towels and one toilet roll for a week stay as a family of three. Yes it s self catering but we have done this many times before and have been provided with basics. The location became a real issue for us with a buggy and no car. We knew it was up a hill which is fine, we don’t mind walking but the bends with no pavement and fast traffic meant it was dangerous at times walking into the town centre with our daughter. The buses were regular but we only managed to get on two due to them being so full. Due to these reasons, this is the only accommodation from a month in Italy that I wouldn’t recommend at all.

Positive: The environment was amazing. Views of the volcano and partly of the sea. The pool area with views and the rooms was also a major plus. The staff was so sweet and helpful. Everything was clean and pleasant. Looking forward to coming back.

Positive: This is a superb property in a great location. Everything is excellent, and Maria is so helpful. We only stayed 3 days but plan to come again for longer.

Negative: At first we thought the hill was a worry but when we’d walked it once both up and down and knew what to expect it wasn’t an issue - it looks worse than it is!
