Positive: The location was great, only a few miles from all attractions in either direction. The furnishings and amenities were ample considering it is such a small house, yet plenty of room.

Negative: I didn't like the fact that it was listed as an entire house, yet there is a occupied permanent residence attached to the side if it. You can hear noise and smell what there were having for dinner. If your sensitive to smells, like I am, the house itself has a musty smell when you first walk in, but wasn't a bother once you are in it for awhile. It was to be expected for such an old property.

Summary: The entire stay was enjoyable. We truly appreciated the authenticity of the house and furnishings.

Positive: Located near Harper's Ferry and Antietam, and a 90-minutes' drive from Gettysburg and one hour from D.C. (plus it is near the Applachian Trail), this is in the middle of it all. But the location is only part of the story, as the former schoolhouse had been made into a delightful room for 2 - 6, with kitchen and full bath. The attention to detail in renovations almost makes you nervous about an upcoming grammar test, or having to recite the multiplication tables! I enjoyed the old books and toys and wall charts they have included. Overall, just an amazing place. We were so glad we didn't stay in some hotel when this was waiting!
