Positive: Beautiful bedroom with excellent views - such a treat to wake up to views of the Picos de Europa. The breakfast prepared by the hosts was fantastic and I can also recommend the dinner.

Positive: This place was absolutely outstanding. It is located in a lovely small village about 20 minutes drive from the start of the Ruta del Cares walk. The couple who run it couldn't have been more helpful, they made us a delicious breakfast and sandwiches to take on the road. The view from our room was spectacular. I loved our stay, would go back anytime and couldn't recommend it highly enough. Most comfortable bed I have slept in so far in Spain.

Negative: Nothing. Outstanding stay.

Positive: Exelent location if you want to do hiking, such as the Cares or Bulnes and culturaly close to Covadonga. If you like quiet and peaceful this is it. The couple/owners of the stablishment are very sweet and helpful. The food is really good, I wouldn't go anywhere else in the area for breakfast or dinner. Highly recommend it.

Negative: Very tight access roads if you are a bit challenged in driving, but only for a few hundred metres. The roads to the town are spotless and great to drive with beautiful scenery.

Positive: What a wonderful hotel in a very beautiful location. We had a fantastic stay. We were made to feel welcome immediately by the owners. Their service and attention to detail was excellent. We had the ground floor room. It was spacious and light with views out to to Picos in the distance and the immediate village below. The peace and the calm were incredibly relaxing. The location is ideal for walking trails and incredible scenery. We had dinner as well as our breakfast there. The food was prepared to a very high standard and was delicious and very good value. We would fully recommend Refugio del Cares. We will definitely return for a longer stay.
