Positive: Red Coconut Villa is a great spot to stay while exploring Bentota. Kathrin is a very friendly host who allowed us to stay in and use our room until late in the day due to our late night flight home. The rooms are comfortable & the gardens are lovely and the pool and pool area are a terrific spot to cool down. I highly recommend this place.

Positive: Lovely setting with the colorful japanese motifs and decorations. Easy access to the beach across the road. Great pool. Fabulous seafood dishes for dinner. Large rooms.

Negative: Rooms lacked natural daylight but this did keep the rooms cool.

Summary: A few days relaxing by the pool. Clifford and Kathrin are wonderful hosts.

Positive: A quirky off the road setting with the owners adding a colourful slant to the property. All open plan. The owner is a great cook Aruna and his wife Kathrin is a great host. Lovely pool. A very relaxing spot with only 3 rooms so it was lovely and quiet. The hosts organised massages for us which were great.

Positive: Lovely place the owners have created, the cooking is incredible. Highly recommend.

Negative: The mosquitoes get bad around dusk but this is the case for quite a few places around Sri Lanka. About a 5 minute drive into Bentota so not in a village centre unfortunately

Positive: Starting with the great location — right in the middle of the jungle, yet close to a spectacular beach with all the amenities you may need. If you’re dreaming of peace, relaxation, meditation, or a massage, you’ll find it all here. Both owners are on site and always ready to help. For us, the most spectacular experience was the dinner. It wasn’t just a meal — it was a celebration, a sensory journey, and a discovery of new flavours. Aruna, the master chef, plays the leading role here, and he is truly exceptional. You can find many things elsewhere, but definitely not this. We highly recommend it!

Positive: It's like living in a wonderful, quirky work of art. Few rooms means the gardens and facilities feel very private. The breakfasts were excellent but limited choices. Dinner is costly but we treated ourselves one night and it was very special.

Negative: Hard to find and its not clear you're at the right place when you do arrive.

Positive: This is a special escape from the often hecticness of Sri Lanka! Just a beautiful tranquil, zen setting..lush gardens. We were so happy with our stay. The hosts are terrific and do all they can to make your stay perfect. The room was large and super comfy.. maybe a touch dim but we were hardly in there! Pool was great and a welcome cool off point. The food was excellent and thoughtly constructed by a real chef (the owner! We ate here both nights! Wow! Thoughtfully constructed delicious meals. We loved staying here..going to watch the sunset at Bentota beach was magical. A big thank out to you all..and also all the cute friendly dogs, especially Charlie, who you could more or less with.. .your choice! Respectful pets...thank you kathrin and hubbie..you made this trip for us. ..
