Positive: One of the few places to stay in the Westfjords at an affordable price. Be aware, it is in the middle of nowhere. So bring your groceries along, as the next shop is 60km away. Basically everything is 60km away at least. But you can go to Hellulaug, which is beautiful
Negative: Bedbugs! We had two rooms and when we were leaving, a bedbug was crawling across one bed in one room. Afterwards my wife hat several bites across her arm and developed a rash. I stayed in another room, no problem. The sheets were clean and the staff is really eager with cleaning the rooms.
Summary: in the middle of nowhere

Positive: It was a very clean guesthouse and close to the ferry ( which we were taking the next day). Not too large. Facilities well maintained. There was a shared kitchen. ( with plenty of dishes/utensils etc)/dining area and included free tea/ coffee. ( grocery stores not close by so plan ahead!). Shared areas were clean and included little niceties like soap in bathroom and little hand towels/washclothes. We barely saw staff since we arrived late- but were able to get our key via lockbox. It was close enough so we could take the trek to bird cliffs to see puffins in the evening.

Positive: Clean, spacious and comfortable room. The kitchen was well equipped. We could enjoy beautiful ocean views from a comfy living area. We had been staying in smaller facilities but Rauðsdalur was pretty big. Many families/couples were staying. It has multiple shower rooms and we did not have to wait.
Negative: With self-check-in, I do not think we met a staff
