Positive: The staff were lovely, Amalia was lovely, We were very comfortable with beds, pillows. Clean. Awesome view from restaurant on property and a nice trail for a walk. Got the cabin in the woods feel with extra comfort

Summary: We enjoyed our stay of one night as we travelled in area. Great food! Slept well, Quiet and cozy.

Positive: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The grounds were beautiful. We saw so many hummingbirds and butterflies on their well manicured grounds. The included breakfast was delicious.

Negative: The beds were uncomfortable. Water temperature and pressure wasn't that great, but tolerable and understandable due to the mountain location.

Positive: Amalia was a wonderful host, she helped us with everything and made us feel very welcome. The cottage was very well equipped, clean and was spacious enough for 4 adults. We would definitely return if we had the chance.

Negative: Our only recommendation would be to have at least two options for breakfast and the staff in the restaurant could be more proactive (example they didn't offer more juice or milk for the coffee, we had to get up and go ask if it was possible)

Positive: We wanted to explore this lesser visited part of Costa Rica between Bajo Toro and la fortuna. We loved our stay at Rancho Amalia. The family is so welcoming and accommodating. The cabins were very comfortable and cozy and it was so convenient having a restaurant on site. We chose a 4km ride and the views and surrounds are beautiful and worth the visit. Very peaceful countryside escape! Loved the dogs and chickens too!

Negative: The only drawback was occasionally hearing trucks going to and from zarcero. Not regular sounds and no visibility of the road but occasional nonetheless

Summary: Sweet peaceful cabins tucked in the hills. Great for families, hiking and riding.

Positive: Beautiful view. Comfy bed. Staff was helpful and addressed an issue we had with water in the shower. Breakfast in the restaurant is nice with a great view. Fantastic steak for dinner.

Negative: Not too modern. Was somewhat cold and the fireplace has smoke coming into the room. Was also rather cold at the restaurant for dinner - but the food was great.
