Positive: Fabulous location and great decor. Probably the most stylish hotel we’ve stayed at yet in India - a great mix of timber, tiles, artwork, fabrics and comfy furnishings in the rooms. The pool area and views are absolutely fabulous. Comfy bed and great lighting throughout the resort and rooms.

Negative: Sadly the dining experience was well below par with any other dining we’ve had in India - be it roadside or a 5 star resort. We headed to dinner at 7.45 and were told we’d be served a set menu - which came out in a very steady rush, was all cold food and no spice or flavour. We were given water and when we asked for a non alcoholic drinks menu were not given one. We asked for soda water and were told they’d run out. For the equivalent of aud$500 a night for a room, it just felt like there wasn’t great value for money there. A good dining experience would make this a great stay.

Summary: Great location, great decor and design, beautiful pool - at a price!

Waking up each morning to the thunderous beauty of the waterfall felt surreal, and the comfort of our room made it easy to sink into the rhythm of the place. But what truly set this experience apart was the people who cared for us. Snehal deserves the highest praise. His warmth and dedication transformed our stay into something unforgettable. He not only arranged a personal bike ride to another waterfall, but seemed to anticipate our needs before we even voiced them. His constant attention and genuine kindness made us feel less like guests and more like family. The chef’s food was another highlight—every meal was a celebration of authentic Indian flavors, varied and beautifully prepared. During our month in India, this was some of the finest food we tasted. He would come to our table, eager to know if there was anything more he could do, though the answer was always no—everything was already perfect. I must also mention the coffee, prepared by a gentleman whose name I regret forgetting. It was rich, aromatic, and easily among the best cups I’ve ever had. Meanwhile, my partner indulged in a three-day spa treatment guided by the on-site doctor. She emerged from it feeling renewed, as if the stress of travel had melted away. This was not just a stay—it was an experience woven with care, flavor, and unforgettable hospitality. Athirappilly Rainforest Resort gave us memories we will carry forever, and we recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking both comfort and magic in equal measure.

Negative: The only slight issue we had was the shower temperature was scalding hot and it took a couple of days to sort out but it certainly did not effect the quality of our stay.

Positive: Tree house is a one in a lifetime experience. We could not leave our balcony as view of falls and sound of birds was hypnotic. Staff very attentive and good at their job. Server at meals was amazing.

Negative: Food was plentiful but taste was not great - tasted like large resort food in a smaller resort. Coffee though was wonderful!

Summary: Enchanting place. Suggest anyone to stay here for an incredible experience
