Positive: Lovely, cosy little cottage. Lovely enclosed outdoor space which was great for our dog and the hot tub was fab! Had so many lovely little touches, such as the sweet treats on our arrival and having so many toiletries available. Was clean and tidy, easy to check in and the hosts are friendly. Perfect base for exploring Filey and Flamborough.

Negative: There’s no oven which was fine but I didn’t realise beforehand and brought oven cook pizzas for tea!

Summary: Lovely cosy room, great for a dog friendly stay

Negative: Nothing i didn't like but as an observation chicken wire over the gate would make it more dog friendly for small dogs and more relaxing while we were in the hot tub

Positive: Everything you could need. Great location and facilities. Hot tub was amazing. Dog friendly and our girls loved it. Welcome pack with shortbread and rock was a lovely touch.

Positive: All new, nice quality and modern decor. Good location. Didn’t use the hot tub or BBQ but good additions. Nice private outside seating area. Owner’s daughter couldn’t have been more helpful.

Negative: It would be a very small bed for two! I was on my own. The trains were faster and louder than you’d think - it is the Railway Retreat tho!.

Positive: Well presented and fitted out. Nice hot tub and private garden area. Close to the Bempton cliffs. Host was very welcoming and showed us how to operate the hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped. Extra towels for hot tub. Overall very happy to recommend for a couple or those with a young child or dog. The shortcomings below are intended to be helpful. Milk and tea / coffee with an excellent Tassimo coffee maker. ice cubes also provided (an ice bucket would have been useful).

Negative: From the pictures it is clear the double bed was a small double,. The description suggested a microwave. Better quality cutlery to fit the rest of the spec and some plastic glasses for the garden/hot tub would have been a good addition. There is no Ariel for the TV channels so you will need your own streaming account.. Please see these as positive comments to help you enjoy your stay at the wonderfully designed Railway Retreat.
