Positive: Comfortable beds, nice rooms and excellent breakfast with Chinese, Asian and European choices. Charlie and Jason were both very helpful and English-speaking. Charlie helped us to get food when we arrived in the middle of the night and Jason booked a tour guide for us.

Negative: Generally, in the entire city access to internet is slow and interrupted. That is quite challenging in terms of communication, online payments and orientation for foreigners. Perhaps the hotel could consider getting an ATM and/or providing a leaflet or map with basic information for foreigners on where to withdraw cash (Bank of China for example works), how to pay with what apps, how to navigate, where to book flights, trains and busses etc.

Positive: Raddison Hotel is an easy name to remember, but not in its Chinese form "深业丽笙酒店". The locals would rather you tell them just "丽笙酒店". If you tell any taxi driver you want to go to "Raddison Hotel", sorry, you are out of luck: English is just not used here in Kashgar. Speaking of communications, you'd better prepared for a wild shock: with overwhelmingly Uighars, you would be lucky to find someone in the service sectors, like taxi drivers, to understand you other than the place you wish to go and forget about trying to pry out some any travel advice in Chinese. Anyway, to get back on the right track. Yes, it surprised me at first that such a bonafide five-star hotel really exists in this part of the world. And I was equally happy to discover its 20-m swimming is actually functioning and well maintained, especially in this scorching heat, and in the middle of the menacing deserts. If there is any selfish unfair comment I have, it would be its comparatively distant location from other shops. Remember, in June, in Kashgar, you learn quickly to respect the desert heat. Even walking 100 m in the sun is a challenge. Of course, it makes a quiet place if you have no neighbors, and that is why you are required to have breakfast at the hotel. The staff are quite friendly and attentive. The morning before I was scheduled to check out, I explored the taxi situation because I needed to catch a 6 a.m. train. The front-desk clerk, he said his name is Michael,(Jason Statham's double) told me that the Muslim holiday Hajj was the day I needed the taxi service, and it could cause some problems because many drivers would choose to stay home and celebrate it with the family. But he took the trouble to secure a driver for me for the next morning. For which, I was very grateful. Yes, Kashgar's Raddison is one bonafide 5-star hotel with a 5-star staff and management going with it. I enjoy my stay with them very much.

Negative: To be fair with my comment about its less-than-convenient location. I noticed across the street from Raddison is a booming construction site. Maybe shortly, it would be a short walk across the street for a simple shopping or cultural encounter.

Positive: staff can speak English and helpful. we could finally find a coffee at the breakfast. (other hotels in Xinjiang don’t have coffee)

Negative: location is a little odd, need a taxi to get in downtown but they can’t call taxi for us, everyday have to wait long time on the street to catch a taxi. it wasn’t easy with 40 degrees outside.

Positive: The breakfast was a mix of a-la- carte and buffet and was of an excellent standard. I also used the restaurant for evening meals and the food was also excellent. The support, information, help and cooperation of the staff at the hotel was excellent too. In particular and of note, was the standard of help, support and professional conduct and performance given by Jason, the duty manager/manager at the Radisson Blu in Kashgar. Jason's performance was really excellent. Jason was extremely heplful in giving me advice about where to visit in Kashgar and in setting up a COVID test, which is now required for most travel in China. Overall, Jason's performance added much value to my stay in the Radisson Blu in Kashgar and to the brand value of Radisson Blu.

Negative: Everything was excellent. My stay at the Radisson Blu in Kashgar added to the pleasure and enjoyment of my trip and added to the brand value of Radisson Blu, which is already a very good hotel chain.
