Summary: The whole lobby area is poorly designed.

Summary: Underwhelming for the price. No amenities in room. No furnishings. Looked like furniture missing in room. Called front desk no answer for over 30 minutes. Views of city are great but that’s about it.

Summary: Nice hotel, large rooms, clean and convenient - best thing about it is the outdoor pool in summer!

Summary: Clean room with nice view but it is hard to enjoy the balcony when they give you nothing to sit on and enjoy the space. The only other downside was that it was hit and miss with the staff. Some were great and others came across snooty or bothered.

Summary: The staff couldn’t have been more accommodating, helpful, or friendly. One young man was especially happy to secure our bags for us houses earlier than check-in. When we came back, he recognized us Anna before we could turn around, he had our bags for us. Everyone was that nice. My only reason for four stars rather than five is that the mini-bar gave us pause. We were warned that even touching it sets off a motion detector Anna we could get charged for opening the door. Scary! I’d rather have a mini fridge and get my own snacks. Anyway, the room was just right and the sparkly floor in its hallway and bathroom was very adorable. The hotel is in a convenient location. Except for a mistake in my check-in date and getting charged for an extra night by Expedia/Hotels.com, all around a great stay. Luxurious. Excellent hotel restaurant, too.

Summary: The elevator floor was so dirty the entire weekend. It looked as though it had not been vacuumed in months. Speaking of the elevator, there was a consistent squeal upon movement up and down. I booked this hotel, because it advertised a fitness center and indoor/ pool, only to arrive and be told that there is a $35 daily amenity use charge - so the fitness center is not included in the standard hotel rate. The outdoor terrace deck was not well maintained. The furniture was old and dirty. The rooms were clean and the location was great. However, the pricing is beyond overpriced for the poor quality. This is the first and last time staying at this hotel.

Summary: Great location with spacious rooms for a large city. Always could get a cab outside the hotel. Our 7 year old enjoyed the short walk to Maggie Daley Park (bring bug spray in the summer) and to the River Walk. The outdoor pool was very nice after a day of sightseeing. Suggest bringing a small cooler and travel mugs if you plan to spend more than an our at the pool. There is a CVS right next to the hotel that also sells beer wine, and hard alcohol so stock up on that and snacks since a small stack of Pringles in the room is $10. No issue requesting a mini fridge. One negative- our room faced the river and was next to a fire house. Even though we were on thr 13th floor you still heard the noise from it, which was often around 6am.

Summary: The room itself was fine for a quick one-night stay—decent, simple, and just large enough to do the job. Unfortunately, the checkout experience completely ruined the visit due to blatant phantom minibar charges and dismissive service. I was billed for a beer I never opened because the fridge uses automatic sensors that register a charge the second you merely move or lift an item. When I disputed this at the front desk, the staff took zero responsibility. Instead of resolving it, they claimed the minibar is managed by a third party and told me they would "send an email" to see if a refund is possible, offering no guarantees whatsoever. Getting stonewalled over their faulty automated system is unacceptable—watch your folio closely and don’t touch anything in that fridge.

Summary: Excellent everything and all staff

Summary: this has been our favorite hotel for years, but since Choice took it over, it’s gone downhill. it seems worse every time we come back. we come to chicago frequently, but we think it’s time to find a new place to stay. front desk barely spoke to us or showed any hospitality at check-in. we requested a high floor away from elevators for less noise and received a room on the lowest floor available which is directly above the pool and public spaces and literally right next to the elevator and the housekeeping room, it was SO noisy at all hours. the glass on the balcony door was so dirty we could barely see out. the shower was covered in long black hairs when we checked in and was partially broken--only one sprayer head was functional. the hot tub was broken, again--the third time we’ve been here this year. the bartender at fire lake was so unbelievably crabby. we ordered a beverage listed on the menu and she got upset at us because they “don’t make that anymore”. ok, fine, but how would we know that if it was on the menu? and never a reason to be rude. the lobby bathroom was so messy and dirty from a dance competition happening, no one was monitoring it or cleaning up. the tv in the room didn’t work. and the hotel shut all water off for hours at one point during our stay, which meant no showering or using the bathroom.
