Positive: If you're looking for a rustic, traditional atmosphere, this will not disappoint. Beautiful grounds with great views, with delights like a koi pond, goats, and peacocks. Great wifi and the hosts were very helpful. So good we added 1 extra night.

Negative: I recommend keeping the doors closed as there is no screen, so bugs will get in the house.

Positive: Rustic House far exceeded my expectations. This peaceful retreat included a full house in a gated compound complete with salt water pool, fully appointed kitchen, dining room, living room and upstairs 2 bedrooms. There are 2 baths one up one downstairs. Our hostess was a cheerful and delightful, she did everything to accommodate us in spite of the fact that we spoke no Portuguese and she spoke no English and always with a big smile. The quiet was a deep rest for a travelers soul, only the sounds of the goats and peacocks and those not overt. Though the middle of August we were able to open bedroom windows every night and enjoy the cool and dry breezes in the silent night overlooking the town in the distance with a few lights sparkling. I truly hope that there will be a day I can return here - it was far more than I could have hoped for.

Negative: I have a bad knee and was unaware the bedrooms were on the second floor with a flight of stairs. The location is rural, very winding roads, a traveler would definitely need a map application or garmin to locate.
