Positive: The view is absolutely beautiful! Everything was lovely at Quinta da Galeira. The apartment was charming, spacious, comfortable, very clean with a well equipped kitchen. The garden and pool were great and my family loved the games room where we played table tennis. It was incredibly relaxing staying there, worth the hefty climb up the hill!! Pedro couldn’t have been kinder, thank you for everything.

Positive: Great views, lovely large terrace to sit out on. Plenty of outdoor chairs on terrace, and shading if necessary. Bedrooms were comfortable, and plenty of clothes-hanging space in hall cupboards. Air con very effective in very hot weather. Games room was fun, and friendly hosts generously left bread and pastries each morning, as well as doing some laundry for us (property didn't have washing machine).

Negative: Check-in process wasn't clear, so advance info would have been helpful. Pool is not suitable for someone with mobility issues (have to go up steps to get into it) which one of our group had. Living room area probably not big enough for 5 or 6 to sit comfortably, though dining area is. House would benefit from removal of some of the more personal items, such as photos, to make it more 'neutral''.

Positive: The garden, sun loungers, shared pool and games room are great Table football! Table tennis!!) The interior of the property is cool despite the heat outside and the kitchen, although quite small was well appointed. Nice sitting room with homely feel. The bedroom was large with nice views. Onsite parking. Good walks around the vineyards and up to the observaton point from the house. The landscape is beautiful.

Negative: The plastic matress cover, although practical was a bit of a dissapointment. The town itself is quiet and not very interesting although there are a couple of nice places to eat down by the river which are not immediately obvious. A bit of a hike back to the house from town on a hot evening. Slightly trickly to find depending on which way you approach the property.

Summary: Comfortable and well appointed home in the heart of the Douro valley.
