Positive: Very helpful hosts and a clean, comfortable and good-value stay. Just a little train noise a couple of times at night could disturb a poor sleeper.

Negative: The shower was awkward, not the fault of the owner but of the designer. Hard to prevent fine spray going over a large area.

Summary: Great hosts were a victims of a need for a slightly larger bedroom, and maybe a more comfortable bed

Negative: TV did not work; the shower is a disaster. No shower door means the place flooded despite efforts with towels on the floor to stop the water from spreading. This meant the floor had to be mopped up and attempts made to dry but didn't have the equipment for this meaning the floors were wet the entire stay. Tea bags and coffee were provided but no cups, no sugar, no milk and no kettle provided so effectively no means of even making a cup of tea at any stage. Hosts were very nice but only met Jill when I arrived and Tom late the evening before I left. Parking was safe but very tight as there was no room to turn so you either reversed in (which off a busy street was tricky) or you reversed out and took your chances with the traffic.

Summary: A beautiful home with very modern fittings but very expensive for what was provided.

Positive: Perfect home away from home. The location was exact for what we wanted to do on our short break. Hosts Jill and Tom were such lovely helpful hosts. Our room was perfect and met all our needs. It was spotless. The bathroom was big and spacious, and the shower was good. There is no negative feedback we can give for this accommodation. We would definitely stay again.

Negative: Absolutely nothing.

Positive: Lovely welcome from Jill. Cosy room with balcony so that you could have the sliding door open for ventilation especially overnight as it was a warm summer night.

Negative: The list of amenities mentioned there was an EV charger available but there was no mention of a charge of $10 for 24 hour which although not a significant cost should be stated. There are other places that are destination chargers that allow EV charging without requesting a separate payment. Also by stating there is an EV charger, a few travellers might assume it is a fast charger and if turning up with very little mileage left in their EV might find that they are not able to charge quickly for onward travel as the charger is just from a power point in the garage so is slow. Trains from a nearby railway line are audible enough to wake travelers early at 5.30.

Positive: Jill and Tom were lovely, very generous in the use of their house and then helped us sort alternative trips when our overnight stay on Kapiti was cancelled. The rooms are luxurious, the bathroom fantastic and a great balcony for evening sun. The bedroom(s) isn't huge but there are 2 and a landing area for putting suitcases etc on that you get exclusive use of.

Negative: Everything better than expected!
