Summary: From the beginning to the end of our holiday, everything was perfect thanks to the owner and the person on site. We really enjoy our holiday in this house and this region. I recommend it!

Summary: In reading this review it should be borne in mind that we stayed in December. Our comments probably do not apply to peak summer season. The property is located close to the stunning Cabo de Gata in a quiet township, within a peaceful gated community. It is of a good size and is equipped with everything we needed. It though has one fundamental issue in that the rear courtyard is primarily north facing and contrary to the photo shown got no direct sunshine. We have taken winter sun holidays in Spain for many years and have never before had no access to a sunny private area. This was a great disappointment. Further we had issues in that, as advised by the agent on arrival, the internet was poor and as the tv was internet based it was in the early evening often unwatchable. Finally we tripped the power five times as the capacity of the apartment struggled to accommodate oven, hob etc. It became necessary to turn the heating off in order to prepare a meal. In conclusion careful consideration should be taken if considering this apartment for a winter sun holiday.

Summary: We stayed for 2,5 week during July 2010 in this apartment in El Toyo, Retamar.With our two daughters, and two girl-friends, aged 15-17 years old. We enjoyed our stay because of the very good equipped interior. the beds were good, there was enough space in- and outside, and the complex El Toyo gives you a safe feeling. The swimming pool was magnificent and the (very quiet) beach was only 10 minutes walking. In the evening it was lovely in the moonlight to make a walk along the promenade and the beach. There were enough possibilities to have dinner in restaurants, but we went only a few times, because of the very complete kitchen in the appartment. During our stay the temperature outside was too high to make long trips, but Almeria, Roquetas de Mar, San José (with also markets) are very nice villages for a visit. We can recommend this appartment for families. We are very enthousiastic about this adress, and we hope to come back there some time! Compliments for the owners.because the description on the homeaway site is correct.

Summary: Visited the apartment as a party of 4 - apartment is really spacious and very high quality furniture - plenty of room for us all - kitchen very modern with everything you would need. Much higher standard than other apartments we have rented for a lot more money! Although El Toyo is a small resort, there is everything you could need here for a relaxing holiday. Beach is very quiet and there are just enough bars and restaurants - if you are looking for English breakfast then this is not the place for you - it is very Spanish and hope it stays that way. Great choice of wines in all the bars. 4 star hotels across the road welcome non residents and we did spend a bit of time around their pool. Great garden area with the apartment and a very handy BBQ which we used a couple of times - the one local supermarket has everything you could need with meat and fish. This is not an English resort and english is not widely spoken - if you like a taste of real Spain then this is the place for you. Lovely walk from the apartment in front of the hotels along a decked promenade alongside the beach - 3 beach bars and we visited them all - all serve really good choice of fish. Would go back and stay at this apartment any time - we were mixed ages and all felt catered for. Very peaceful and relaxing and guaranteed sunshine. What more could you ask for.

Summary: Very well equipped, climatized flat with terrace, 10 min to the beach (absolutely not overcrowded). Appropriate infrastructure within 20 min walking. Interesting surrounding for tourists interested in nature, small villages etc., otherwise close to Almeria.
