Set near the owners’ home on their working farm, it lies within a short drive of the historic city of Bath. Walking through wild flowers meadows, the Avebury Stone Circle, Castle Combe (reputed to be England’s prettiest village), Lacock Abbey, Longleat Safari Park, Bradford-on-Avon’s many antique shops and Swindon’s steam museum and outlet shopping are just some of the area’s many delights. Summary: Lovely home for a couple. Well maintained by the owners who are extremely helpful. We were there in early December 2020 and the house was comfortably heated with radiators and a small wood stove. We were always warm throughout our stay. We chose to walk and cycle during our time at the property and enjoyed each day even if the weather was not superb. Knowing we were returning to a cosy, warm cottage made the whole experience the best. Facilities and equipment provided made it easy to make our own meals which is always our preference. Summary: Visiting family and used the cottage for a safe spot to see them. Tiny and compact but we felt ‘safe’ in the current situation.
