Positive: A quiet, modern building in the outskirts of Taupo. The homestay provided two large rooms just for us - a bedroom and a sitting room with some spectacular views. Breakfast was muesli, muffins, bread/toast, orange juice, tea (plus milk), and bananas. A great way to start the day. Our hosts were super friendly, offering advice when asked, but also happy to leave us alone. They did some washing for us, which was great.

Negative: Not a lot! Note that the place is a 45 minute walk away from downtown. Payment had to be in cash, or a NZ debit card.

Positive: Absolutely amazing couple and a superb private home. The furnishing is of highest quality, the house and garden are full of beautiful modern art work, and the lounge has fabulous views. Breakfast was the best we have gotten in New Zealand with home made bread and jams; they also offer a Nespresso machine, yay! 😍😍 Leanne and Andy are incredible sweet and professional and made us so welcome! We were very sad that we couldn't stay longer.

Negative: We unfortunately had failed to tell the hosts beforehand that we wanted to use the hot tub - as most guests don't use it, they only prepare it upon request. It was no big deal, however, because we ended up going to nearby Wairakei Terraces which is New Zealand's only silica hot spring spa.
