Positive: The location is Ciudad Vieja, which was both good and not so good. Good in that it was close to all of the historical landmarks that I wanted to see. Not so good, in that the area has few actual residents since most of the buildings are commerical or governmental in nature and not too many actual people live in the area.

Negative: The bed could have been a little more firm.

Summary: Great location for historical monument sight-seeing.

Positive: The location ( near the main pedestrian walkway and midway between 2 mayor attractions—> Mercado del Puerto & Plaza Independencia ) is ideal. Everything you need is around ( laundry-service, haircutter ) and there are splendid cafes/restaurants. Breakfast at Farmacia is just 2 minutes walking. Also the Rambla is close for sunset.. Furthermore, the appartments are impeccable and the hosts are very friendly and helpful

Negative: Really everything was perfect, indeed we’ve seen some homeless/drugaddicts, but then again .. this a capital and harbour-area. We weren’t in anyway disturbed

Positive: The location is fantastic to access the museums, sightseeing, transport and services such as a corner store, laundromat, cafes, etc. Dirk and his staff are super accommodating. The beds were so comfortable after our long-haul flight. The rooftop pool and sauna is a special addition and place to relax after sightseeing.

Negative: Probably not the place to stay if you've got primary school age children, as there's no close parks or green spaces. Better for older children.

Positive: The property is well situated in a very interesting part of the city. You can walk to many attractions or else utilize Montevideos excellent bus system to get around. The roof terrace is a great place to sit, relax and sip some fine Uruguayan wine at the end of the day. The staff was friendly and gave us lots of useful information that enhanced our stay. We had a great time and if back in MV, we would return.

Negative: This has nothing to do with the apartment, but if you like to cook, be forewarned that the grocery stores in the area leave a lot to be desired. They do offer basics, but I emphasis the word "basic". It took us a few days to figure out where we should do our shopping. I'm guessing that this is probably not a problem for most people, but we travel extensively, and one of the reasons we book at an apartment/hotel is so we can cook our own meals. Just so you know...
