Set in the peace and tranquility of the Andalucian countryside,surrounded by olive and almond groves, this spacious and refurbished country cottage has the most stunning views across the valley below. Located only a short drive from the village of Colmenar which has a good selection of tapas bars, local restaurants and local shops, bakeries, butchers, chemist, 24 hour medical centre, weekly fruit and veg market, banks etc. The cottage is detached, private and has plenty of secure private parking right next to the property.
The property comprises of a large, airy and spacious lounge with sofa, wood burning stove,easy chairs, tv, and a dining area for 4 persons. The well equipped kitchen has patio doors leading directly out onto the dining terrace which is shaded. The 2 bedrooms are airy, spacious and well appointed and have mosquito nets on the windows and A/C for the summer. There is also a gas bbq and plenty of seating areas., It has its own private oval-shaped pool, surrounded by inlaid stone patios planted gardens and panormic views of the valleys especially pretty at night. This lovely property is extremely spacious and provides exceptional comfort and is a great base for exploring this beautiful area of Andalucia with its Moorish architecture, whitewashed villages and traditional cuisine. Malaga, airport and beaches are approx half an hour. Visiting some of Andalucias most historic sights eg Malaga with its intricate streets with ancient tapas bars, Gibalfaro Castle, Cathedral and new Muelle Uno Marina,Ronda with its gorge and bullring, Granada with its Alhambra Palace , Marbella and Orange Square , Nerja and its famous Balcon de Europa and Maro caves are day trips due to the property's central location. The main dual carriageway leading to the coast or further inland is only 10 kms. An ideal haven of peace and tranquility to rest, relax and soak up the sun!

Summary: The cottage had everything we needed and if something was missing, Angela was just a message away. Beds are perfectly fine and we slept well becauae of the quiet surroundings. The kitchen is a bit dated but it works fine and everything's there for preparing a meal. It's location is perfect for exploring the area around Malaga, Nerja, Cordoba and Sevilla. We had a lovely week and love to come back!

Summary: The property, is as listed, relatively secluded close to the owners house & guest accommodations. Access is via an unmade track, which, can result in the underside of a car hitting the surface. General condition of the property is fair. The listing & images "Private Newly refurbished Villa" bears little comparison. No fenced garden but made up with chicken wire and stakes, or not at all. The pool area shows sun beds with padded covers under fixed sunshade, there are no cushions or sunshade, just a hole. The outside dining area shows a quality table and 4 chairs & sun shade. None of these remain, there is a plastic table and4 metal/plastic woven chairs, 2 of which are broken. Rustic bench & table in the garden are no longer there. Apart from a plastic (damaged) beach parasol, the size of an umbrella, there is no shade outside most of the day. The pool, on arrival had decomposing leaf debris on the base, was never cleared or serviced over the entire duration of 10 days, despite being advised it would be. Great views from the property, but not as the image on the listing.. Hot/Cold water is freely available ( hot water very hot) Kitchen is basic in condition and provision of crockery & cutlery. Oven not used due to its general cleanliness. Smart TV worked fine. Fridge worked fine but lacking a number of shelves which made it difficult to utilise fully. The property, over the 10 days, was not serviced inline with the listing that "bedding is replaced weekly" towels also stayed with us throughout (washed by us) Wrought iron headboards to the bedrooms, together with the period wooden wardrobes & panelled doors have been replaced with white chipboard self assembly storage units (IKEA) no clothes hanging facility, plain flush bedroom doors have replace the character furnishings as shown on the listing . Free wireless internet & 4G phone signal is available. On the safety side for guests, the listing states there is a fire detector in the kitchen, there is not. Emergency exit route, there is not, Fire extinguisher was last serviced 2016 which is a great concern. Must have been great some years ago but unfortunately misrepresented for what is now is.

Summary: Lovely remote location, great views and great for relaxation and Malaga only about 40 minutes away. I would recommend that you do not get a basic car as the hills in Colmenar and the track down to the Villa are very steep.

Summary: Los Establos has a peaceful countryside setting where all you hear in the morning are the roosters, birds and the goat bells. Great location to get away from the tourist grind but located centrally enough to make day trips to Malaga, Ronda and Granada and down to the different beach side towns. Angela was excellent, letting us check in early and answering the phone at anytime to give us driving directions through the town. Driving the hilly steep country roads is a slight challenge but worth it and the first few times up and down the driveway although a little hairy soon becomes routine. We loved our stay and would definitely come again. The locals were friendly and helpful and seemed to enjoy my partners efforts at Spanish. Definitely eat at Tarverna de Los Flores in Colmenar town, the food is fantastic. Thank you Angela for a fabulous stay.

Summary: Loved our stay at Los Establos. Quiet and relaxed area. The property was clean and tidy and was perfect for us. Car essential. We spent most of our time around the pool with our feet up reading. Batteries fully charged again.

Summary: We really had the best time here, and the views across the valley and mountains was a treat and a feast for the eyes! The peace and quiet was exactly what we needed and having the small pool outside was perfect. (and having the coolbox was brilliant) We loved the location but also not far from Columnar for needing essentials. There was plenty to see around the area as well as the beaches past Nerja but also the finca was a great place to relax and soak up the sun! I would definitely want to return again- many thanks Angela.
