York also offers two additional beaches (Short Sands and Long Sands Beach), the Village at Short Sands, Animal Kingdom, surf lessons, restaurants/bars, bike and surf rentals, shopping, and more. You can also drive along the Maine coastline to see lighthouses, historic landmarks, and popular destinations like Ogunquit, Perkins's Cove, and Kennebunkport. Portsmouth, NH, is only a 15-minute drive, and Portland, ME, is a 45-minute drive. Return to your private getaway to relax at the end of your day.
The Space
Our apartment offers more space, privacy, and amenities than local hotels. It features an open floor plan with a spacious layout, two bathrooms, and a bedroom on the upper level. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need for cooking inside or outside. The first floor has a kitchen, living room, and a 1/2 bathroom overlooking one of our many gardens. The second floor also looks over the garden and has a queen Tempra mattress for a comfortable night's sleep, a working space, a 1/2 bathroom, and a washer and dryer. You can also enjoy a large private porch surrounded by lush gardens that change weekly, complete with patio furniture, a table for two, and a gas grill. You can explore our gardens or visit the butterfly garden. We also provide a selection of books and games throughout the apartment for your enjoyment.

Summary: Wonderful host family. It is within walking distance to parks, beach, and the village plus trails. The apartment has the smallest of details well planned out, right down to makeup towels and cloth napkins. The beautiful gardens attract butterflies and humming birds as a back drop to the dining table. This is the most restful stay we have had in six years. Wished it was for a longer period of time.

Summary: We stayed at this property for a long weekend and had a wonderful time! The apartment is cozy and quiet, and the inside was pristine. The owners were very quick to respond with inquiries prior to booking and leading up to our stay. They truly thought of everything to ensure their guests have everything they need for their stay. The location was perfect to enjoy all that York Harbor has to offer, and was close enough to allow us to explore nearby towns as well. This was one of those stays we were not ready to come home from.

Summary: This is the best short-stay site we have ever stayed in! It is a lovely, highly efficient and just what we wanted in this charming village. Small kitchen, with usual appliances and a nice array of snacks, adequately equipped for the advertised capacity although not for a large group. Two levels with bedroom, bath and washer-dryer up stairs and living/dining/kitchen on lower floor plus a half bath which was convenient. Spotless and pleasant furnishings, including books, games and TV which we didn't use, but best part of the venue was the private outdoor patio with comfortable seating surrounded by really wonderful, carefully tended gardens. Nice neighborhood and there are also nice walks nearby--to York's small sandy beach, plus a well-marked, two mile route up the York River that begins across the street. While centrally located it's so secluded that it's hard to spot coming from I-95, and exiting the short drive was tricky until I learned to use the mirror across the street to gauge traffic coming around a curve. Owner was very welcoming and gracious. Really the best ever . . .
