Summary: Driving up to the house defies description, a manicured, tree-covered driveway with beautiful art installations. The villa is truly breathtaking. Completely open air design, magnificently furnished with 3 seating areas inside and out and amazing 2 and 3 dimensional art throughout. Unlike many rental villas that feel quite sterile, this one has an almost “art museum” feel to it. The pictures on VRBO don’t come close to doing justice to the home, the property and the views. The Starlink internet is blazing fast and there are extenders throughout the house. We had planned a chef-prepared dinner for our first night. When we arrived the chef and his helper, along with our bartender, were already here and preparing. There is a separate Chef’s kitchen off the guest kitchen so they are out of sight during prep and clean up. We spent the rest of the night playing pool, lounging in the hot tub and pool, taking sunset pictures on the rooftop patio and eating the magnificent Dominican-themed meal that was provisioned and prepared for us. Perfect. We took a short trip to 2 stunning beaches - both absolutely beautiful with natural shade from trees and plenty of day beds and covered tables. Excellent dining options at both beaches. We felt very welcome and safe. Overall, going back to the subject line of this review, Villa Tala may very well be the best kept secret in the Caribbean. We will definitely be back.
