Summary: When you walk into this place, you're not quite sure what to expect, let alone the pride in which they have taken to provide a wholly unique experience compared to what you might think from the outside.. The hotel only has a few rooms, each has been uniquely decorated with a mishmash of antiques, modern retro equipment, but also custom furnishings - hammered copper counter for the washbasin sink.. Feels more like a bed and breakfast than a hotel. The main hallways are lined with displays of Kansas historical items. The F-14 (yes, this hotel seems to have a 'personal' F-14 display across the street) and Top Gun stuff is just a bonus as is the bar/grill area. Definitely a mom and pop operation that those traveling I-70 should support and shun the corporate chains... Heck, if you want you can stay in a Conestoga wagon (air conditioned) if you want!!

Summary: There was no staff at check in or check out. We were sent two different codes and I didn’t catch that so when we arrived so we struggled getting in our room and no one would answer the after hours staff phone. It was so frustrating. I left a message and never did receive a call back. Our air wasn’t working right either. It was just frustrating not to be able to reach someone.

Summary: I only stayed one night. It was clean and cozy! Very comfortable bed! Easy access. Wish I had more time to check out the bar and patio area. Not the typical hotel stay, it was awesome!

Summary: Second stay at Prairie Rose and will book again. Love the nostalgia of the place and the decor of the rooms. Beds are very comfortable. Bathroom amenities are provided. Lots of room space. There’s a great bar and dining service with a couple of large screens for watching sport broadcasts. Restaurant menu in room along with small bottled waters was very nice. Staff is very friendly and cordial. Very clean room and restaurant. Easy to access room and restaurant. Reasonable rates!

Summary: Very charming hotel. We were very pleasantly surprised. The room was very large and decorated very nicely and homie. Brought back lots of memories. Had both dinner and breakfast. Food was great. There are covered wagons in the back you could also stay in. Will recommend this to everyone that travels through Kansas.
