Welcome to the Carriage House: a beautiful studio apartment nestled in the mountains of Montreat, walkable to miles of hiking trails. Private w/ its own hot tub, deck, gas grill, fire pit, & beautiful views.
This studio apartment is located over the owner's well-sound-proofed garage with its own entrance, separate from other residents. This space shares a driveway with our other rental property, a two bedroom apartment on the ground floor called "The Getaway."
Private entrance, full kitchen w/ granite countertops, full bath, its own heating and a/c, Internet. 1 Queen bed.
Close to Montreat Conference Center. 10 min from breweries, restaurants. 30 min to the Biltmore house & downtown Asheville.

Summary: Very nice property. Very nice view. I wish I could have stayed and enjoyed it more however the room was so drafty and cold we left the next morning. Was not aware the owners stayed there as well so felt like we should whisper, didn't feel very private.

Summary: Property is as described and pictures are accurate. It was clean and well appointed, bed was comfy, hot tub was clean. The only time I ever heard sounds from the host was the garage door opener rumbled x1 while I styed for 6 nights. Otherwise it's very quiet and the forest tree frogs serenade you at night if you open the window by the bed.

Summary: Overall this place was really cute! The bed was comfy and the aesthetic was nice. The only thing was the hot tub really badly needs to be cleaned. It had an orange fungus in it so it was absolutely unusable. Everything else was great!!

Summary: Overall good experience. Location is secluded and close to popular trailheads. I had to fix plumbing issues with the toilet handle and the dishwasher, which isn’t fun and the host hasn’t responded to my message about the dishwasher. They say you don’t need to strip the sheets from the bed….I did, but don’t. Ignorance is bliss when comes to mattress stains. I would consider staying here again because of the location and the hot tub.

Summary: Originally we reserved a studio accommodation. Realizing that two flight of stairs were beyond our abilities, we decided to head back home. Dan reached out to us and offered us the first floor accommodations at no additional cost. We gladly accepted his offer and returned the following day. It was a wonderful weekend with a peaceful location with one of the greatest hot tubs. We passed the location to friends of ours. We too, will return to Montreat too.

Summary: This was a comfortable little studio apartment with a private hot tub, which was nice after a day of hiking. We love the Montreat/Black Mountain area and the fact that we could walk to some of the trails from the house. The only downside was that the listing makes it appear that the house has a view. Maybe it does in the winter when the trees are bare, but we were completely surrounded by forest. This was a big deal to my husband who had specifically looked for a place that had a view from the hot tub. To others, all the other great things about this unit might be more important. Overall, enjoyed our stay.
