Positive: Made to feel very welcome and a lovely house. Very clean, warm and wonderful little touches in our room - nice toiletries, lovely bed linen, good selection of teas and delicious biscuits.

Positive: My colleague and I were looking for somewhere quiet and convenient, and Portland House was brilliant. Our host, Lisa, was really transparent that it was very near the A40, but with the double glazing, I didn't hear a thing, and I am usually sensitive to noise. I really appreciated her integrity, and I can honestly say it was not the slightest problem The house is full of quirky charm, and small thoughtful touches. It was very comfortable, with a lovely garden out the back, and an unexpectedly charming small store/cafe less than five minutes walk away where we could get a take away meal and a great breakfast the next morning. We agreed that we would definitely come again - it really felt like a home away from home and we were made to feel incredibly welcome. (The cup of tea and slice of apple cake when we arrived was top notch too!)

Positive: The house is very nice and warm in winter, which is always a good thing in the colder months. It's also very quiet and peaceful despite being close to a main road you can't hear a thing. Michael and Lisa are very welcoming and friendly. Coffee, tea, and hot drinks are available in the room.
