Positive: plitvicariverhouse is a lovely home away from home run by the fabulous Ante & Lucy and their staff who welcomed us as if we were family! Rooms are large comfortable and warm. The breakfast is substantial many options, fruit, meat and cheese, eggs to prder, homemade jams and spreads. The dinner is delicious and needs a pre order. Drinks available are a great mix of premium international brands and special homemade grappa. But all of that is just the icing on the cake which is how excellent the location is to explore layers of natural beauty. The property is just a 10 min walk to entrance C of Plitvica national park very convenient we explored route H. for it's location the reality was so much better unbelievable beauty to sit by the charming water wheel and take it the bubbling brook and little streams, spot birds in the rushes accidentally scare a hare. And cool our wine and beer in the icy water as we sit sip and take it all in. Rest reading relaxation is the main activity Highly recommend staying here to explore the park. If you don't have your own car reach out to Ivan from Eagle Taxi. No dining or grocery close by so come prepared.

Positive: We stayed there only one night, but wish we had more.. The hosts (Lucy and Ante) were extremly friendly and helpful and we were treated as a VIP guest there. Clean and beautiful property with pefect location to Plitvice Lakes. I highly recommed to stay here!

Positive: Everything felt fresh and new. The rooms were lovely, with a nice sitting area on our floor. The owner-chef was congenial and prepared lovely meals. It was well worth it to have dinner on site!

Negative: While it wasn’t a problem for us because we had a car, the distance to the park entrance is actually pretty significant.

Summary: The River House is great location for exploring Plitvice Lakes National Park.

Positive: We chose this property due to its proximity to Gate 3 for early access to the park & also based on reviews here. The host was charming & very helpful. Rooms were very clean, comfortable & spacious.

Negative: The host contacted us in advance to offer dinner @€44/head which seemed a little high but had good reviews, so we agreed. Water was offered with the meal but no price list was shown. Afterwards we were offered breakfast which we agreed to as we had an early start. On checkout it was a surprise to discover the drinks & breakfast were way above what would be expected: €4 for a small bottle of water & breakfast @ €24/ head. Throughout our trip we have eaten in some very high end restaurants in Dubrovnik, Split & Zadar, whose prices have been comparable (& quality arguably better). Our final bill made this the most expensive single night we have spent in Croatia.

Summary: Charming hotel & host but be aware of the extras.

Positive: Beautiful and very peaceful location hosted by an owner that is very proud of his property and hard work. Conveniently located just outside the Plitvice Lakes NP entrance #3. The room was perfect with a very comfortable bed. Shower had the best water pressure. We were served an incredibly delicious dinner and breakfast. Can’t wait to we can return for a longer stay.

Negative: Not a complaint, we had a river view room but no view due to the lush vegetation which was beautiful. It was not a big deal!!! The easy access to the park more than made up for it.

Summary: Plitvice Serenity with outstanding service!!

Positive: An exceptional place in a fabulous location within walking distance of the quiet T3 entrance to Plitvice National park. Our host was amazing; genuine and sincere, who provided hospitality with a capital H!! As an incredible added bonus, he is an amazing chef with excellent food knowledge, who provided breakfasts and dinners to die for. As a couple in our 70’s who travel widely, we have never, ever experienced such high standards of hospitality and service, not to mention the exceptional surroundings and overall attention to detail 😍

Positive: Location was fantastic close to gate 3 which is less busy and a 3 min drive or short walk. Ante could not have been more welcoming and attentive & is a fantastic chef ! Great to have clear instructions to navigating the park and free parking on site.

Negative: We really liked the accommodation - small and intimate. It would be good to know things like how much breakfast (24e each) and dinner (44e each) cost in advance (or include in the price) as there aren't many options once you're there. Just so you know. That said the food was absolutely fresh, organic & delicious.

Positive: The location in the mountains and at the entrance to the national forest was amazing! The facility was great, the food was delicious, and the staff felt like old friend. We hope to get back to this area of Croatia again and if we do we would love to stay here again!
