Summary: We arrived at the gite and were shown round, we gave the agent the security deposit, we only found out about this a couple of weeks before travelling. We did feel the amount was a little excessive considering the accommodation, we have never been asked to pay such a large deposit at any of the other gites we have stayed at. On closer inspection we found the property to be grubby, dirty cutlery and crockery put away unwashed. We found spiders webs and dust in all the rooms and spent sometime cleaning before we finally unpacked, hanging our clothes in a wardrobe with no doors. The shower was very awkward to get in and out of, due to the door only moving into the bath,
