A secluded place for your family to have alone time. Come be in nature.
Perched on the bank of the Tippecanoe River, this house hangs in air like a treehouse, giving optimal river views. The house and river offer leisure and vigorous activities: There's a prolific flowering garden, a screened in porch, outdoor patios, swings, tubing, chair surfing(river lounging), fishing, hiking, bird watching, games, bon fires, nature walks to mention a few. Come be in the wild. A river resident and unmissed neighbor, the great blue heron, unknowingly catches the attention of a room, even if only flying by. A walk to one of the islands, or across the river, is always a fun, and sometimes tricky activity. The Tippecanoe River stands two and a half feet tall at normal height. There is a mile loop that takes you through the neighborhood, for those walkers and runners.
The open kitchen looks down upon the living and dining rooms, making it the central hub of the house. The concrete patio, under the house, is a great hangout year round...sun, rain, lightning storms. This house is a great getaway.
This is not a party house. No bachelor parties. No loud noise or fires after midnight due to neighbors. People live on the Tippecanoe River. Please respect them and this beautiful land we all share. No shooting wild life from the property.
*The fireplace inside the house is unworkable. It is not listed as an amenity. Fires can not be made in this fireplace, sorry for the inconvenience. There is also no TV at the house. Streaming shows from your computer is fast and easy.

Summary: A wonderful break from the city grind. The home reminded me of every woodsy vacation I ever had complete with open conversation area overlooking the river. Great location to get away close enough to Purdue to commute, far enough away to relax.

Summary: First of all let me say that this home's setting is beautiful and relaxing. It feels like a treehouse over the river. So we definitely enjoyed that part. The house itself is adequate. It's clearly been partially renovated. Furniture is dated but clean. Kitchen is old but functional. Mattress wasn't great. However, there were two MAJOR issues during our trip that the owner failed to deal with. He eventually stopped returning my messages entirely. 1. AC wasn't working the whole of our 3 day trip and daytime highs were in the 90s. Because nighttime got into the 60s we could open the windows. The house did cool down eventually. Owner said "sorry" but that was it. No one was called out to check on the unit. 2. The hot water heater quit completely our second day (and was only tepid the first day.) The owner told us to push the reset button, but it didn't work. Water was ice cold by the last half of our visit, which I messaged the owner about and received zero response. Because the house was warm we could manage the cold showers, but really?! These two items are BASICS that every rental should have (at least the hot water!) We received no follow up messages from the owner and no offer of any type of refund or restitution. The property listed AC as a feature, but not for us. We have rented many many VRBO and other brand rentals in the past all around the country and have never had something like this happen. I wouldn't call this a cheap rental. But it felt like camping. Not good!

Summary: We had a good stay at this renovated cabin with beautiful river views. As shown in pictures, the living space of cabin is above the ground a full flight of stairs. We enjoyed watching wildlife. Bald eagles, hawks, heron, deer crossing river, and more. Our dog enjoyed watching the river and wildlife too. The beds were very comfortable and the A/C worked well. Plenty of comfortable seating and appreciated the large dining table as we were doing some wedding prep (for nephew) and needed extra table space. The internet is helpful as we had little or no cell signal at the cabin. There is a landline as well which we didn’t use but really appreciated that the owner made available. This is a beautiful area that we hope to explore more in the future.

Summary: This house is right on the water and is a great location if you want to fish and watch the river pass you by. Plenty of space to spread out and a large kitchen for cooking meals. We used the charcoal grill to cook some meals and hung out on the covered patio during the day. Cell service is non-existent when you get within a couple miles of the house so be sure you know where you are going. We didn't realize the address shows up in VRBO after the checkin time so we missed it and spent a couple hours in the dark looking for the house (which cannot be seen from the road). We tried contacting the owner but he either didn't get the message or didn't reply. Eiher way we finally found it and it was a very peaceful and perfect place for our trip.

Summary: We enjoyed our beautiful nature stay. Deer out front crossing the river. Bald eagles all up and down the river. We spent 2 days on the river from the dam to the bridge just past the house. the river was a little low this time but still a doable trip. we will defiantly be back. we all love this place.

Summary: It was a good stay overall. We were in the area to visit our daughter for family weekend at Purdue. We only stayed here as an alternative because there were no hotels near the Purdue campus available. The inside was clean. A little outdated and unfinished in spots, but the seclusion and view was nice. It was about 30 minutes from West Lafayette campus, but not bad. Overall it met our needs and we enjoyed our stay with no issues.

Summary: This place is such a find. The river is shallow and easily accessible for fishing or wading. House is spacious and has everything you would need, including board games. No tv is a nice break for our kids and I loved the quiet! Also something to note...there are ZERO mosquitos!!! We brought bug spray and literally never used it! We will surely be back!
