Summary: The schoolhouse was clean, cozy and had all of the creature comforts of home! The property was very private, surrounded by trees, very lovely setting. There are so many things to do in easy driving distance and the surrounding area in general (the driftless area) is stunning! Will definitely be returning.

Summary: We decided to do an end-of-summer family vacation with my husband, 9-year old son and our dog. This was an absolutely lovely little spot for us to enjoy a few days of R&R. The place is clean and cozy and the amenities made it easy for us to pack up and go. We were there during an incredible hot and humid spell and when the A/C unit just couldn't keep up with the heat, I reached out to the hosts for some help - they were absolutely AMAZING! So kind and thoughtful - they were extremely responsive and helped us get the space cooled down (he even brought us a window unit in case the A/C had any additional trouble) - all of this during a busy work week. If you go, be sure to ask about the history of the building - it's really interesting and the hosts even have family ties to it! Overall, a top-notch stay; we would definitely go again!

Summary: This was an amazing getaway. Quiet, private, and beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed walks at dusk when the dear came out and grilling each night. We’ll definitely be back.

Summary: If you're looking for a private setting to de-stress and get away this is it. Peaceful, private wooded setting away from it all. We loved sitting around the fire pit in the evening watching the deer graze out in the field. Yes, it's small and a little bit minimalistic but you have all the conveniences you need. Less than 30 minutes from House On the Rock, 15 minutes or so from Taliesin. Just what we needed.

Summary: This property looks just as it appears on line. Beautiful modern/country furniture inside. Kitchen essentials. Grill and charcoal provided. Dish network available. All towels, linens and soaps provided. Modern heat and air. Note: no back door from main building to bunkhouse have to go around outside of the building. We had a lovely stay here.

Summary: Only about 20 minutes from the nearest grocery store, but tucked away enough that it felt isolated and fun to stay at the property. An excellent retreat for me and my friends! Would absolutely stay there again

Summary: We loved our first visit to the Schoolhouse - we'll be regulars. We were looking for a peaceful place to recharge and found exactly that. Not a single phone call all weekend :) The house is beautifully done and was well stocked with the necessities. It was clean and you can tell it is new, and the work was well done. Cozy, comfortable space (not big but that is OK) with nice outdoor area for our dog, and to sit out if the weather allowed. It was generally quiet (although you do notice a little road noise) and we were hoping for a place to avoid fireworks noise (drives our dog crazy) and we only heard a few. Check-in and check-out was smooth. We had no complaints and have planned our first return visit!
